Sainik School Tilaiya, a fully residential school functioning under the aegis of Sainik Schools Society, Ministry of Defence, has released a notification for 8 contractual posts across teaching and support categories. Posts are initially for 11 months, extendable based on performance review and institutional requirements. Candidates who qualify the written test, skill test, and interview will be selected. The school is located at Tilaiya Dam, District Koderma, Jharkhand.

Who Can Apply?

For TGT Posts (Social Science, Physics, Mathematics)

• Graduation: Four-year integrated degree course from a Regional College of Education of NCERT in the concerned subject with at least 50% marks in aggregate, OR a Bachelor's Degree with at least 50% marks in the relevant subject/combination.
• B.Ed: B.Ed or equivalent degree in the relevant subject from a recognised University.
• CTET: Pass in Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) Paper-II conducted by CBSE. This is compulsory for all TGT posts.
• Teaching Medium: Proficiency in teaching through English medium is required.
• Desirable: Knowledge of Computer Applications.

Subject Details for TGT Posts

• TGT (Social Science): Graduate with any two of Geography, History, Economics, Political Science — one must be Geography or History.
• TGT (General Science - Physics): Bachelor's Degree in Physics with any two of Mathematics, Chemistry, Electronics, Computer Science, Statistics.
• TGT (Mathematics): Bachelor's Degree in Maths with any two of Physics, Chemistry, Electronics, Computer Science, Statistics. Note: BA (Hons) in Maths and B.Sc (Hons) in any subject other than Maths are not eligible.

For Art Master

• Master's Degree in Fine Arts from a recognised Institute/University, OR
• Higher Secondary/Intermediate with minimum 5 years (7 years part-time) diploma in Fine Art/Painting/Drawing from a recognised institute, OR
• Graduate with Fine Art/Drawing and Painting as a subject with minimum 4-year Diploma from a recognised institute.

For Counselor

• M.A./M.Sc. in Psychology from a recognised university plus 1-year graduate diploma in Guidance and Counseling, OR
• M.A./M.Sc./M.Com with B.Ed/M.Ed plus 1-year post-graduate diploma in Guidance & Counseling, OR
• B.A./B.Sc. (Psychology) with a certificate of diploma in counseling.
• Desirable: Minimum one year experience in psychological and educational counseling at schools.

For Music Teacher

• Essential: Higher Secondary with a degree or diploma in Music from any recognised institution.
• Desirable: Experience of teaching in a residential public school; proficiency in games and co-curricular activities; knowledge of Computer Applications.

For Craft & Workshop Instructor

• Essential: Higher Secondary (12th pass); two-year trade certificate from a recognised Industrial Training Centre; ability to teach through English medium.
• Desirable: Experience in residential public school teaching; proficiency in games and co-curricular activities; knowledge of Computer Applications.

Age Limit

• You should be between 21 and 35 years as on 01 April 2026.
• Age below 21 years or above 35 years is not eligible for any of these posts.

Salary

• TGT (Social Science, Physics, Mathematics), Art Master, Counselor: Rs. 44,900 per month (consolidated, fixed)
• Music Teacher, Craft & Workshop Instructor: Rs. 29,200 per month (consolidated, fixed)
• No other allowances or perquisites are applicable during the contractual period.
• Rent-free accommodation within the school campus and free meals along with cadets in the Cadets' mess will be provided if available, at the discretion of school authorities.

• SC / ST: Rs. 250 (non-refundable)
• Payment mode: A/C Payee Demand Draft drawn in favour of Principal, Sainik School Tilaiya, payable at State Bank of India, Sainik School Tilaiya Branch (Code 3502).

Selection Process

Selection will be done in 3 stages:

1. Written Test: Candidates will be assessed through a written examination.
2. Skill Test: Practical skill assessment relevant to the applied post.
3. Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for a personal interview. No TA/DA will be paid for attending these stages.
