SDAO Seraikela Crop Guard Recruitment 2026: Overview

The Office of the Sub-Divisional Agriculture Officer (General), Seraikela, under Jharkhand's Department of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Co-operative, is selecting Crop Guards (Fasal Rakshak / Kamdar) under the Crop Protection Programme scheme for 2026-27. The people chosen will work at the plant protection centres in different blocks of Seraikela-Kharsawan district, helping farmers deal with pests and crop damage right in their fields. This is an honorarium-based engagement, not a regular government post.

The plant protection centres named in the notice include Rajnagar, Seraikela, Kharsawan, Kuchai, Gamharia, Nimdih and Chandil, along with one more block centre. If you are a 10th-pass local youth who has already done the Agriculture Directorate's crop-protection training and you like outdoor work, this job is made for you. The office can change the centre allotment based on its needs.

Service Conditions and Caveats

  • Local residence: You must be a local resident of Seraikela-Kharsawan district and attach a valid local resident certificate.
  • Field fitness: You must be able to ride a bicycle and climb trees — the office treats both as essential because of the field nature of the work.
  • Local language: Knowing the local language is compulsory, and the interview checks it.
  • Which training counts: Only training of at least five full days from offices under the Directorate of Agriculture and Horticulture, Jharkhand is accepted. Longer training earns extra weight, courses shorter than five days are ignored, and only one training certificate is counted.
  • Tenure: One year, or until regular appointments are made, whichever comes first. The job gives no automatic right to regularisation, permanence or regular-employee benefits.
  • Reservation: Category-wise seats follow the model reservation roster for Seraikela-Kharsawan district, and the number of posts may change as per the department's needs.
  • Character certificate: Not needed with the form, but you must give it at document verification or joining.
  • Joining: If you do not join within the given time, your selection lapses and the seat goes to the waiting list.
  • False information: Fake certificates or hidden facts can end the contract even after selection, and disciplinary action may follow.
  • Updates: Interview, result and document verification notices will be posted on www.seraikela.nic.in, so keep checking it.

Application Submission Notes

Fill in the prescribed application form attached to the notice, paste a recent passport-size photo, and attach self-attested copies of your certificates — a form without them is treated as incomplete. You can also hand it in yourself at the Sub-Divisional Agriculture Office, Seraikela during office hours, 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. The form must reach the office by 5:00 pm on the last date; late forms will not be accepted.
