Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL), a Government of India Enterprise under the Ministry of Railways, has issued Vacancy Notice No. 2026/RVNL/23-ELEC for filling up 1 General Manager (Electrical) post at its Bengaluru office. This is a senior management role on deputation for a tenure of 5 years, subject to government approval for exemption from the rule of immediate absorption. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in infrastructure projects, railway electrification, rolling stock production, or metro projects.

Who Can Apply?

• Service: You must be an officer of IRSEE (Indian Railway Service of Electrical Engineers) or Electrical Engineering service
• Eligibility for GM (Electrical) - Level-14 (CDA) / IDA E-8: You should hold one of the following positions:
  • Officers holding substantively posts in analogous grade (CDA / IDA), OR
  • Officers holding posts in Level-13 (CDA) and having 17 years of service in Group 'A', OR
  • Officers carrying grade IDA E-7 (Rs. 1,00,000 - 2,60,000) for four years
• Experience: Preference for candidates with experience in execution of infrastructure projects, railway electrification, rolling stock production, or metro projects
• Mode of Appointment: Deputation basis through proper channel

Age Limit

• You must be below 58 years of age
• The cut-off date for age and eligibility is the closing date of the vacancy notice (4 June 2026)

Salary

• Pay Level: Level-14 (CDA) / IDA E-8
• Pay Range: Rs. 1,20,000 - Rs. 2,80,000 per month
• You will receive your parent department pay plus deputation allowance
• Other allowances as per RVNL/Government of India rules

Selection Process

Selection is based on:

1. Screening of applications: Eligible candidates are shortlisted based on the documents submitted through proper channel
2. Interview / Selection Committee: Shortlisted officers will be considered by the Selection Committee for the post
3. Vigilance Clearance and APAR Verification: Last 5 years APAR grading must be forwarded by the controlling officer within 15 days of closing date

This is a deputation post — there is no written exam.

• Lead and manage the Electrical department at RVNL Bengaluru office
• Plan and execute railway electrification, infrastructure, and metro project works
• Oversee rolling stock production and electrical engineering activities
• Coordinate with Ministry of Railways, zonal railways, and PSU stakeholders
• Manage project budgets, contracts, and vendor relationships in the electrical discipline
• Mentor and guide officers and engineers reporting to the Electrical department
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards on electrical projects
• Prepare and present project reports to senior management and the Board
