WAPCOS Limited, the engineering consultancy company, is building an Expert Data Bank under advertisement EXPERT-DATABANK-2026. Instead of filling a fixed set of posts, WAPCOS wants a ready pool of experienced professionals it can call on when new consultancy projects come in. The panel covers 56 specialisations spread across water resources, power, infrastructure, ports and a broad group of allied fields. Any engagement that follows is on a fixed or short-term basis, so this suits working consultants and seasoned engineers who are open to project assignments.

Posts and Disciplines

• Water Resources Sector: irrigation, water resources, flood modelling, command area development, groundwater, watershed management, hydrological modelling, hydro-meteorology and instrumentation. Most of these slots want a civil engineering degree or a master's in hydrology, hydraulics or hydrogeology.
• Power Sector: power transmission, power distribution, rural electrification, hydro power, thermal power, instrumentation, renewable energy (solar, wind and hydro) and energy auditing. The Energy Auditor slot also needs certification from the Bureau of Energy Efficiency.
• Infrastructure Development: water supply, sewerage, low-cost sanitation, drainage, solid waste management, leak detection, highways, bridges, transportation planning, trenchless technology, urban planning, architecture, municipal finance and asset management.
• Ports and Harbours: sea dredging, port and terminal work, inland waterways and fairways, and vessel design, open to civil or mechanical engineers with a B.E. or M.Tech.
• Other Engineering Fields: ropeway engineering, mechanical engineering, contract management, procurement, project management, structural and geotechnical engineering, geology, GIS, environment, sea outfalls, and construction supervision, which is open to diploma holders in civil, electrical or mechanical engineering.
• Finance, Law and Social Roles: economist, financial analyst, financial management specialist (Chartered Accountant), ERP expert, legal expert, public governance advisor, community development expert, and MBA-based roles in customer services/IEC and institutional development.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Nature of engagement: Experts are empanelled for fixed or short-term assignments, not for regular posts on the company rolls.
• No job guarantee: Getting into the data bank does not confirm a job offer. WAPCOS may consider suitable experts when a future requirement comes up and contacts only those it shortlists.
• Experience is the real filter: Almost every specialisation asks for relevant project experience on top of the degree, often in water resources, power or infrastructure development projects. Read the Annexure-I line for your specialisation before you pick it.
• Several specialisations: You can choose more than one specialisation in the same application if your qualification and experience fit each of them.
• Preferred background for finance roles: The financial analyst and financial management specialist slots say a civil engineering degree is preferred alongside the finance qualification.
