WAPCOS Power Project Experts Recruitment 2026: Overview

WAPCOS Limited, a Mini Ratna-I public sector consultancy, is hiring experts on a project-term basis for its Project Management Consultancy (PMC) assignment on the 120 MW Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) Power Project at Rokhia, near Agartala, Tripura. The roles are senior and experience-heavy — they suit engineers and specialists who have spent many years in the power sector, especially on gas-fired or thermal plants.

Posts and Disciplines

• Electrical Engineer: the core electrical role on the plant; a track record in developing gas-fired combined-cycle or thermal plants with large single units is a plus.
• Instrumentation and Control Engineer: for electrical or electrical-and-electronics engineers, covering the plant's instrumentation and control side; combined-cycle or thermal project exposure is desirable.
• Senior Labour Specialist: the only non-engineering post — it needs deep experience in labour management plans for large construction sites and in supervising contractors' supply chains, plus knowledge of Indian labour laws and ILO guidelines.
• Full-Time Resident Expert / Residential Expert: the most accessible post here, for electrical engineers with consultancy experience in power project planning and management; speaking Bengali is an advantage.
• Commissioning Engineer: open to both electrical and mechanical engineers with power-infrastructure project experience.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: The engagement is purely temporary, for 11 months at first, and can be extended depending on project needs and your performance.
• No regularisation: The job ends with the project, and it gives you no claim to a permanent post in WAPCOS.
• Pay: No fixed pay is announced; WAPCOS decides it at the time of engagement based on your qualifications, experience and project needs.
• Posting: The work is for the Rokhia project, but WAPCOS states that you may be posted anywhere in India or abroad as work demands.
• Number of positions: The advertisement calls the count variable, so it can change with project requirements.
• Matching post: Apply only for the post that matches your post-qualification experience.
• NOC: If you work for a government department, PSU or autonomous body, you need a valid NOC from your employer before joining.
• Marks entry: Enter your percentage or CGPA to two decimals exactly as on your mark sheet — do not round it off.
• Jurisdiction: Any dispute goes only to the courts at Gurugram, Haryana.
