About This Job

RITES Limited is hiring 2 AM/PAPIS (Assistant Manager – Passenger Announcement and Passenger Information System) professionals on a contract IDA scale basis. If you have a Diploma or B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or E&T Engineering and relevant experience working with PAPIS systems, this is your chance to join a Navratna PSU. RITES AM/PAPIS Recruitment 2026 - 2 Posts

Rail India Technical and Economic Service Limited (RITES), a Navratna Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Railways, Government of India, has released a recruitment notification for 2 AM/PAPIS posts on a contract basis (VC No. CP/08-R1/26). RITES is a premier multi-disciplinary consultancy organisation working in transport, infrastructure, and related technologies. Both vacancies are in the Unreserved (UR) category. Candidates with hands-on experience in Design, Installation, Commissioning, or Maintenance of PAPIS systems should apply before the deadline.

Who Can Apply?

Educational Qualification

  • Option 1 (Degree holders): Full-time B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering with minimum First Class (60%)
  • Option 2 (Diploma holders): Full-time Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering with minimum First Class (60%)
  • Sections A & B examination of the Institution of Engineers (India), recognised by AICTE, is also accepted as equivalent to a degree.
  • If your certificate/marksheet does not show the division/percentage, you must submit a CGPA conversion formula from your university. Minimum 6 on a 10-point scale is treated as 60%.

Post-Qualification Experience

  • For Degree holders: Minimum 1 year post-qualification experience in Design / Installation & Commissioning / Maintenance of PAPIS (Passenger Announcement and Passenger Information System)
  • For Diploma holders: Minimum 4 years post-qualification experience, of which at least 1 year must be in Design / Installation & Commissioning / Maintenance of PAPIS
  • Note: Training, internship, teaching, academic, fellowship, or PhD research experience does not count as post-qualification experience.

Other Requirements

  • UR/EWS candidates (and SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwBD candidates applying against unreserved posts) need First Class (minimum 60%) in the qualifying degree/diploma.

Age Limit

  • Maximum age: 40 years as on 05 May 2026 (last date of application)
  • Age Relaxation:
    • SC/ST: 5 years
    • OBC-NCL: 3 years
    • Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD): 10 years (in addition to SC/ST/OBC relaxation where applicable)
  • PwBD candidates with at least 40% disability are eligible. The post is identified for Locomotor Disability (Mech & Elect disciplines) and Hearing Impairment (Elect discipline).

Salary

  • Pay Scale (IDA): Rs. 40,000 – 1,40,000 per month
  • You will also get DA at 23% of Basic Pay (fixed/variable allowances), HRA/Lease, Contribution to PF, and Gratuity as per the Payment of Gratuity Act.
  • Other benefits: Leaves, Maternity Leave, Medical facility, Accident/Death Insurance, Leave Encashment — as per company rules applicable to contract employees.
  • The appointment is on contract basis for an initial period of 1 year, extendable subject to project requirements and satisfactory performance.

Selection Process

There is no written exam. Selection is based on:

  1. Document Scrutiny / Verification: All candidates who submit the online application will be provisionally allowed for document scrutiny to verify eligibility.
  2. Interview (100% weightage): Shortlisted candidates are called for interview at RITES headquarters, Gurugram.
    • Technical & Professional Proficiency: 65%
    • Personality, Communication & Competency: 35%
  3. Medical Examination: Appointment is subject to passing the medical examination as per RITES Rules and Standards of Medical Fitness.

Minimum qualifying marks in interview: 60% for UR/EWS category (50% for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwBD against reserved posts). There are no minimum qualifying marks in aggregate.

Interview venue: RITES Limited, Shikhar, Plot No.01, Sector-29, Gurugram – 122001. Interview can be conducted in Hindi or English.

Note: RITES reserves the right to conduct the selection process (document verification or interview) from Regional Offices if required.

Responsibilities

  • Install, commission, and maintain PAPIS (Passenger Announcement and Passenger Information System) equipment at railway stations and transit facilities
  • Diagnose and resolve technical faults in PAPIS hardware and software systems
  • Prepare technical documentation, reports, and maintenance records for PAPIS installations
  • Coordinate with clients, site engineers, and contractors during project execution
  • Assist in designing and testing new PAPIS configurations as per project requirements
  • Follow safety standards, quality norms, and RITES guidelines during field deployment
  • Report project progress and escalate technical issues to senior engineers on time

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Qualification

Diploma or B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics/E&T Engineering (First Class) with PAPIS system experience

Preferred Qualification

B.E./B.Tech in Electronics or Electrical Engineering with experience in PAPIS installation and commissioning

Required Skills

PAPIS system design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance; Electrical/Electronics engineering knowledge
