Responsibilities

  • Manage maintenance and operation of ALCO Diesel Electric Locomotives at RITES African project sites
  • Lead and guide field teams handling locomotive electrical systems and overhauls
  • Plan preventive maintenance schedules and reduce locomotive downtime
  • Coordinate with client railways and OEMs for spares, tooling and technical support
  • Prepare technical reports, work plans and quality documents as per RITES standards
  • Implement safety, environmental and quality systems in workshops and depots
  • Train local technicians and oversee skill development at the project location
  • Report progress, performance metrics and issues to senior project management

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Qualification

Full-time Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering from a recognised institution

Preferred Qualification

M.Tech / MBA or equivalent additional qualification (gives bonus marks in selection)

Required Skills

Maintenance of ALCO Diesel Electric Locomotives; Workshop and depot management; Team leadership; Domain knowledge of railway electrical systems

Salary & Compensation

Pay Scale

7th CPC Pay Level 6 to Level 10 (Rs. 35,400 - Rs. 1,77,500). Designation depends on existing pay level: AM (L-6), Manager (L-7), Sr. Manager (L-8 to 10).

Allowances

Parent pay plus deputation allowance, foreign allowance (where applicable) and other perks admissible on deputation as per Railway Board guidelines. Company/Leased accommodation as per entitlement.

You must hold a full-time Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering and currently work as SSE/JE (Diesel Electrical) in Indian Railways or a Railway PSU with at least 10 years of experience in maintenance of ALCO Diesel Electric Locomotives. Maximum age is 55 years (immediate absorption) or 57 years (deputation).

Salary depends on your current pay level. Pay ranges from 7th CPC Level 6 (Rs. 35,400 - Rs. 1,12,400) for Assistant Manager to Level 8-10 (Rs. 47,600 - Rs. 1,77,500) for Senior Manager, plus deputation allowance, foreign allowance and other perks. RITES also provides company/leased accommodation.

Selection is by merit-based marking out of 100. For deputation, the criteria are Educational Qualification (15), Vigilance/DAR (10), APARs (25) and Interview (50). Candidates scoring 60% or more qualify for the merit list. For immediate absorption, candidates need 75% or more.
