  • Total 406 vacancies across 15 different post types in multiple state government departments
  • Pay Scale: Rs. 18,000 - 56,900 per month under Level 1 of the 7th Central Pay Commission, plus DA, HRA, and TA as applicable
  • Minimum qualification is just Matriculation (10th pass) with Punjabi as one of the subjects from a recognized institution
  • Vacancies include reserved positions for SC, BC, EWS, Ex-Servicemen, Sports, PwBD, and Freedom Fighter categories
  • This recruitment covers both fresh vacancies and backlog vacancies from previous years, giving more candidates a chance
  • Age as on 01 January 2025: you must be between 18 and 37 years old for General category, with relaxations up to 42 years for SC/BC and 45 years for government employees

The selection process is straightforward and entirely exam-based. You will take a written examination consisting of objective-type multiple choice questions. The exam has two parts: Part A is a mandatory Punjabi language qualifying test where you need at least 50% marks, and Part B is the merit-based section covering general knowledge, reasoning, elementary mathematics, and job-related topics. Your final merit list will be prepared based on Part B marks, followed by document verification.

  1. Focus on Part A first -- the Punjabi qualifying paper is a gateway. If you score below 50%, your Part B answers will not even be evaluated. Practice Punjabi comprehension passages and grammar thoroughly
  2. Master basic arithmetic and reasoning -- Part B carries the actual merit marks. Focus on speed and accuracy in elementary mathematics, as these questions are scoring
  3. Watch out for negative marking -- Part B deducts 1/4th mark for every wrong answer. Skip questions you are unsure about rather than guessing blindly
  4. Practice previous year papers -- PSSSB Group D exam patterns remain consistent year to year. Solving past papers will give you a clear edge on question types and difficulty level
  • Matriculation Certificate (10th pass) with Punjabi as a subject
  • Domicile/Residence Certificate of Punjab -- must be a resident of Punjab state, and the certificate should not be older than 5 years
  • Category Certificate (SC/BC/EWS/Freedom Fighter/Ex-Servicemen) -- must be issued by competent authority as per Punjab Government norms
  • Age proof -- Date of Birth certificate or Matriculation certificate showing DOB
  • Recent passport-size photograph and signature -- as per specifications on the application portal
  • Aadhar Card and other identity documents
  • Ex-Servicemen must provide discharge certificate and service records
  • PwBD candidates need disability certificate from authorized medical board

Responsibilities

  • Perform general office support duties including cleaning, maintenance, and upkeep of office premises (Sevadar/Sweeper posts)
  • Provide security and watchman duties at government offices, buildings, and premises (Chowkidar posts)
