New Mangalore Port Authority (NMPA) Deputy Chief Engineer (Civil) Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

New Mangalore Port Authority (NMPA), an autonomous body under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Government of India, has notified 1 vacancy for the post of Deputy Chief Engineer (Civil), Class-I, in its Civil Engineering Department vide Notification No. 3/15/2025/CERS.4. This is a senior technical position for experienced civil engineers with a background in port and marine infrastructure. Employees of Major Port Authorities with the prescribed qualification and experience can also apply, with a relaxed upper age limit of 55 years. NMPA is a fully solar-powered port and part of the Government's Sagarmala port-led development initiative. As per NMPA's recruitment rules, this post can also be filled through promotion, absorption or deputation from officers holding an analogous Superintending Engineer (Civil) post with the required regular service — but the current notification specifically invites Direct Recruitment applications from eligible outside candidates.

Who Can Apply?

  • Qualification: Degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering from a recognized university or institution.
  • Experience: 12 years' experience in an executive cadre in Planning, Construction, Design or Maintenance, preferably of Port and Marine Structures, in an Industrial, Commercial or Government Undertaking.
  • Nationality: You must be a citizen of India, or a subject of Nepal or Bhutan, or a Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1 January 1962, or a Person of Indian Origin who migrated from Pakistan, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, or certain East African countries with the intention of settling permanently in India.

  • If you are currently working in Central/State Government, a PSU, or an Autonomous/Statutory Body, you must apply through the proper channel and submit a No Objection Certificate at the time of document verification. Your appointment will also be subject to vigilance clearance from your current employer.
  • Ex-servicemen must submit their Discharge Certificate or Pension Payment Order, along with proof of qualification and relevant work experience gained during service.
  • Your experience certificate should clearly mention the nature of work and responsibilities you handled, since NMPA uses this to verify the experience you have claimed in your application.

Age Limit

  • Your upper age limit should not exceed 42 years as on 1 July 2026.
  • Age Relaxation: PwBD and Ex-servicemen candidates get relaxation as per Government of India guidelines.

Applications received after the due date, or without the required documents, will be summarily rejected — meeting the eligibility criteria alone does not guarantee a call for the next stage.
  2. Document Verification / Interview: Shortlisted candidates' original certificates are verified, and they may be called for an interview at any stage NMPA decides. Candidature is provisional until your original documents are verified.

Note: NMPA reserves the right to restrict, alter, cancel or modify the recruitment process at any time without prior notice. Any form of canvassing will lead to disqualification. Legal disputes related to this recruitment fall under the jurisdiction of courts in Mangalore.
