National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU), an Institution of National Importance under the Ministry of Home Affairs, has released Advertisement No. NFSU/RECRUIT/FAC/CONT/02/2026 for 56 contractual academic positions spread across nine schools at its Gandhinagar Campus. The vacancies cover forensic science, cyber security, management studies, behavioural forensics, engineering, law, police science, pharmacy, and medico-legal studies. Who Can Apply?

For Assistant Professor - Regular Remuneration (Rs. 90,000/month):

• Ph.D. in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline with a minimum of 60% at the preceding degree, with a very good academic record
• At least two research papers published in UGC-CARE listed, Web of Science, or SCOPUS indexed journals
• Candidates who have given their Ph.D. viva voce may also apply

For Assistant Professor - Lower Remuneration (Rs. 75,000/month):

• Master's degree with minimum 60% in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline, with a very good academic record
• Qualified UGC NET or an equivalent exam in the relevant branch

For Lecturer (Rs. 68,000/month):

• Master's degree with minimum 60% in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline, with a very good academic record
• NET is not required if UGC has not conducted the exam in your subject; the minimum qualifying Master's degree is enough

Your qualification must be from a UGC-recognized University/Deemed University or an RCI/BCI/PCI/AICTE-approved autonomous institution. Detailed domain-wise essential qualifications differ by school and are listed in the official notification — for example, Fingerprint Science/Questioned Document candidates need a Ph.D. built on an M.Sc. in Forensic Science, while Forensic Chemistry candidates can come from Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or Microbiology backgrounds.

Salary

• Assistant Professor (Regular): Rs. 90,000 per month (consolidated)
• Assistant Professor (Lower Remuneration): Rs. 75,000 per month (consolidated)
• Lecturer: Rs. 68,000 per month (consolidated)
• This is a contractual appointment for 11 months, or until a regular appointment is made, whichever is earlier.

• Payment mode: UPI, to the designated NFSU bank account (QR code given in the notification)
• If you apply for more than one post, you must pay the fee separately for each post, even within the same school.
• Your application is considered incomplete until the NFSU Accounts Section confirms your payment.

Selection Process

Selection is done in two stages:

1. Document Verification: Bring original certificates (educational qualifications, experience, age proof) plus one set of self-attested photocopies.
2. Interview: Conducted school-wise between 27 July and 3 August 2026 at the NFSU Gandhinagar Campus.

Candidates appearing for interview may be considered for a lower post if found suitable. NFSU reserves the right to increase, decrease, or not fill any of the advertised positions.
