NEIGRIHMS Project Nurse II Recruitment 2026: Overview

North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS) is recruiting a Project Nurse II (Research Nurse) for its Centre for Advanced Research in Hypertensive Disorders in Pregnancy in Shillong. The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) funds this project, which sits within the Obstetrics and Gynaecology department under principal investigator Dr. Nalini Sharma. This is a project contract supporting the site research team.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Project-linked engagement: Your appointment depends on external funding and lasts only for the project period. It gives you no claim to a regular job at NEIGRIHMS or ICMR.
• Changes to tenure: The principal investigator can extend or shorten the engagement. You should therefore treat continuation as a project decision, rather than an assured extension.
• Field travel: The work may involve site visits, field visits and patient follow-up. Travel and daily allowances for these project visits follow ICMR rules.
• Interview travel: You must meet your own travel costs for attending the interview. The project travel provision does not cover this expense.
• Remote attendance: The principal investigator may arrange an in-person or video interview. If it is online, you must arrange a device with a camera and audio, together with a suitable internet connection.
• Joining: If selected, you are advised to join within 15 days. Further communication with the selected person will be by email, so keep the address you provide accessible.
• Accuracy of information: False statements or attempts to influence recruitment can lead to rejection. If discovered after joining, they can also lead to termination.
