NEIGRIHMS Laboratory Technician Recruitment 2026: Overview

North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS) is hiring a Laboratory Technician for its Department of Microbiology in Shillong. The post belongs to the Prospective Observational Research for Tuberculosis (RePORT) India Consortium Common Protocol Phase II project, funded by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India. You would join a short-term project engagement at NEIGRIHMS Hospital, rather than enter the institute through its regular staff recruitment.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Contract period: The engagement lasts for 3 months. Keep this limited period in mind when deciding whether the project fits your work plans.
• Employment status: This is a temporary contractual appointment. It gives you no claim to a regular appointment or to benefits available to permanent staff.
• Acceptance of rules: If selected, you must give an undertaking accepting the rules and regulations. The institute asks for this on judicial stamp paper, notarized by an authorized notary.
• Travel costs: The institute will not pay travel or daily allowances for attending the interview. You will need to make your own arrangements for the visit.
• Result updates: Check the institute website yourself for results and recruitment updates. You should not expect a separate email, postal letter, text message or telephone call about the result.
• Committee discretion: The selection committee keeps the authority to change the procedure and its rules, including cancellation of rules.
