Kerala Public Service Commission has released this NCA (Non-Joining / special community) notification to fill one Police Constable Driver post in the Kerala Police, statewide. This vacancy is earmarked only for candidates of the Scheduled Caste Converted to Christianity (SCCC) community — applications from any other community will be rejected without a separate notice. Differently abled candidates are not eligible for this post. This is a direct recruitment into permanent Kerala Government Service, so once you clear all stages and training, you get a secure, pensionable police job.

Every selected candidate goes on probation for two years within a continuous period of three years, and must undergo nine months of pre-service training at the Armed Police Battalions, Police Training College or Kerala Police Academy. A security bond has to be signed before training.

Who Can Apply?

• Community: You must belong to the Scheduled Caste Converted to Christianity (SCCC) community of Kerala.
• Educational Qualification: A pass in the Higher Secondary Education Examination (Plus Two) or its equivalent.
• Driving Licence: You must hold a current, valid driving licence for Motorcycle with gear, Light Motor Vehicle, Heavy Passenger Vehicle and Heavy Goods Vehicle, along with a Driver's Badge.
• Practical Driving: Your proficiency in driving light and heavy vehicles is checked in a practical test conducted by Kerala PSC.
• You must hold the valid driving licence throughout every stage of selection, up to the last date of the OMR test, Physical Efficiency Test and Practical Test.

Age Limit

• You should be between 20 and 35 years old. Only candidates born between 2 January 1991 and 1 January 2006 (both dates included) are eligible.
• SCCC members converted after 18 years (and their children): upper age limit relaxed up to 37 years — candidates born between 2 January 1989 and 1 January 2006 can apply.
• Ex-servicemen: upper age limit relaxed up to 45 years.

Salary

• Selected candidates get a pay scale of Rs. 31,100 to Rs. 66,800 per month as per the Kerala Government pay structure.
• You will also receive Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA) and other allowances applicable to Kerala Police staff.

Physical Standards

For Male Candidates:

• Height: Not less than 168 cm
• Chest: Not less than 81 cm round the chest, with a minimum expansion of 5 cm

For Female Candidates:

• Height: Not less than 157 cm

Eye Sight (both male and female, without glasses):

• Distant Vision: 6/6 Snellen in each eye
• Near Vision: 0.5 Snellen in each eye
• Colour blindness, night blindness or squint in either eye is a disqualification. You must submit a medical certificate (Part A and Part B) certifying your fitness and eyesight.

Application Fee

• No application fee is charged for this Kerala PSC recruitment. All eligible candidates can apply free of cost.

Selection Process

The selection is done in several stages:

1. Written / OMR Test: If a written, OMR or online test is held, you must confirm your participation through your One Time Registration profile and download your admission ticket.
2. Physical Measurement: Your height, chest and other measurements are checked. If you do not meet the standards, you cannot go to the next stage.
3. Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Male candidates must qualify any 5 of 8 events; female candidates must qualify any 5 of 7 events. Male events include a 100m run in 15 seconds, 1500m run in 6 minutes 30 seconds, high jump 120 cm, long jump 350 cm, and 8 pull-ups. Female events include a 100m run in 18 seconds, high jump 90 cm, long jump 250 cm, and 80 skips in one minute.
4. Practical Driving Test: Your skill in driving light and heavy motor vehicles is tested by the Commission.
5. Medical Examination: You must be medically fit and meet the eyesight standards.
6. Document Verification: Original documents proving your qualification, licence, community and age are verified.

Weightage Marks: NCC certificate holders get extra marks — 2% for A, 3% for B and 5% for C certificate. Student Police Cadet (SPC) certificate holders and meritorious sports persons also get weightage marks as per the general conditions.
