King George's Medical University (KGMU) Non-PG Junior Resident Recruitment 2026 - 2 Posts
King George's Medical University (KGMU), Lucknow, has released a short-term recruitment notice dated 18 July 2026 for 2 Non-PG Junior Resident posts in the Nuclear Medicine department, against PG academic-2024 seats at Gandhi Memorial & Associated Hospitals. This is a walk-in interview based recruitment — candidates are selected directly through an interview, with no written test involved. Fresh MBBS graduates within 5 years of internship completion looking for short-term clinical exposure at one of Uttar Pradesh's top medical institutions should not miss this opportunity.
Gandhi Memorial & Associated Hospitals is one of the busiest referral hospitals in Uttar Pradesh, and the Nuclear Medicine department here handles diagnostic scans, radioisotope therapy and PET-CT services for patients across the region. Working as a Non-PG Junior Resident here gives you hands-on exposure to nuclear imaging techniques and patient management under senior faculty supervision — useful experience if you are planning a career in radiology, oncology or nuclear medicine.
Who Can Apply?
KGMU has kept the eligibility criteria simple for this walk-in recruitment:
- Qualification: You must have passed MBBS (including completed internship) or an equivalent degree recognized by the MCI/NMC.
- Experience Window: You can apply only within 5 years of completing your internship.
- Vacancy: All 2 seats in the Nuclear Medicine department are currently open under the Unreserved (UR) category — no OBC, SC, ST or EWS seats are notified in this round.
- Domicile: Reservation benefits apply only to candidates with Uttar Pradesh domicile. Reserved-category candidates from other states will be treated as unreserved for all purposes.
- Service Cap: Total service as a Non-PG JR (Non-Band) cannot exceed 36 months, with a maximum of 18 months allowed in one department.
- State Medical Registration is mandatory before joining, if selected.
This short-term role suits MBBS graduates who want focused clinical experience in nuclear medicine before pursuing further postgraduate studies or specialization. Even though the post is temporary, working at a reputed institution like KGMU adds valuable government hospital experience to your resume, which can help later when you apply for PG seats through the regular entrance process.

- The upper age limit for Junior Resident (Non-Academic) is 40 years, as reckoned on the date of interview (24 July 2026).
- Age Relaxation: Up to 5 years for SC/ST/OBC candidates with UP domicile, for widowed/divorced/legally separated women who have not remarried, and for disabled persons (as per Senior Resident post rules).
Salary
- Pay and allowances will be given as per KGMU University rules for Non-PG Junior Resident posts.
