IIM Mumbai DGM, Medical Officer and Manager Recruitment 2026: Overview

Indian Institute of Management Mumbai (IIM Mumbai), the management institute on Vihar Lake Road in Powai, Mumbai, is filling senior Group A posts in its administration: a Deputy General Manager for Career Development Services, a Medical Officer for the campus Wellness Centre, and two campus engineering managers, one Civil and one Electrical. All four are unreserved posts.

The institute is hiring on a regular, contract or tenure basis, so the terms of your appointment can differ from the standard permanent route. Officers already holding a similar post in their parent cadre can also come in on deputation, with a chance of later absorption. Posts and Disciplines

• Deputy General Manager (Career Development Services): the senior lead for placements, internships and corporate relations. It suits management graduates who have already run placement or corporate-relations work at a government, academic or reputed institution.
• Medical Officer: heads the Institute Wellness Centre that looks after students and staff on campus. It suits doctors with hospital or dispensary experience.
• Manager (Civil): looks after the campus buildings and construction projects. A master's degree in Civil Engineering shortens the experience you need.
• Manager (Electrical): runs the campus electrical installations and projects, including the push towards a net-zero campus. A master's degree in Electrical Engineering shortens the experience you need.

Post-wise Duties

Deputy General Manager (Career Development Services)

You will lead the institute's placements, internships and employer outreach. That means building ties with recruiters and alumni, setting up the policies and systems behind placement operations, and giving senior management clear insights from placement trends. The institute wants someone focused on 100% placements and steady improvement.

Medical Officer

You will run the Wellness Centre day to day: treating students and staff, keeping health records, coordinating with hospitals and checking medical claims. The job also covers campus sanitation and hostel and mess inspections, and keeping medicines and first aid ready at all times.

Manager (Civil)

You will manage and develop the campus civil infrastructure. Expect to review project documents, supervise site work and check drawings, quality and measurements. You will also coordinate with contractors, support bill certification and handle construction-related legal and arbitration matters when they come up.

Manager (Electrical)

You will look after the campus electrical systems, from design, load calculations and tender packages to supervising works and verifying contractor bills. You will work with architects and civil teams and push energy efficiency and net-zero campus practices.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• One post only: You can apply for just one of the four posts, so pick the one that fits your profile.
• Round-the-clock commitment: the institute says all four posts need a full 24x7 commitment.
• Tenure appointment: exceptionally strong candidates may get a tenure or deputation appointment, which starts with an initial term of 5 years.
• Flexible offer: IIM Mumbai may offer a consolidated monthly pay instead of the pay level, or appoint you to a lower post if it finds that a better fit.
• Campus housing: selected candidates get campus or leased accommodation, paying their own electricity and water. If you take it, you do not get House Rent Allowance.
• Experience rules: part-time and daily-wage experience does not count. Qualifications cannot be relaxed, but experience may be relaxed for exceptionally outstanding candidates.
• Agniveers: the institute welcomes applications from Agniveers; skills and service experience from the Agniveer engagement may count under the applicable rules.
• Jurisdiction: any legal dispute is limited to courts in Mumbai.
