TMC Varanasi Senior Resident Anaesthesiology Recruitment 2026: Overview

Tata Memorial Centre (TMC), Mumbai, a grant-in-aid institute of the Department of Atomic Energy, is filling Senior Resident and Junior Resident posts in the Department of Anaesthesiology for its two Varanasi cancer hospitals — Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital (HBCH) and Mahamana Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya Cancer Centre (MPMMCC). These are tenure posts for up to one year, which the centre may extend if it still needs you. If you are an anaesthetist who wants to work in onco-anaesthesia at a national cancer network, this is a good entry point.

Posts and Disciplines

• Senior Resident (Anaesthesiology): for doctors with an MD or DNB in Anaesthesiology (or an equivalent NMC-recognised postgraduate degree). Your level — Senior Resident I, II or III — depends on how many years of experience you have after the postgraduate degree.
• Junior Resident (Anaesthesiology): for doctors with a Diploma in Anaesthesiology, engaged at the Junior Resident III level.
• The notice gives one combined count for both posts, so the split between Senior and Junior Residents is not fixed in advance.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Security deposit: Selected residents pay a security (caution) deposit that matches one month's pay for their level, so keep one month's salary ready when you join.
• State registration: Everyone selected must register with the Uttar Pradesh Medical Council, and all your medical degrees must be NMC-recognised.
• NOC for government staff: If you work for a Central or State government body, PSU or autonomous institution, upload an NOC issued through your head of institution with the online form and carry the original — without it you will not be allowed into the MCQ test or interview.
• Result awaited: You can apply before your result is out, but you must show proof of passing at the MCQ test or interview.
• Possible MCQ screening: The Dean (Academics) may hold an MCQ test before the interview to shortlist candidates.
• No travel allowance: No TA/DA is paid for attending the MCQ test or interview.
• Jurisdiction: Any dispute about this recruitment falls under the courts at Varanasi.
