Who Can Apply?

For Lecturer-I (Electrical / Electronics & Communication / Civil Engineering):

  • You need a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Technology with at least 55% marks in the relevant branch from a recognized university.

For Lecturer-II (Food Technology):

  • A Bachelor's degree with 55% marks in the relevant discipline, OR a Bachelor's degree in Arts/Science/Commerce with a first-class diploma in Food Technology, OR a first-class diploma in the relevant branch.
  • Preference order: full degree holders first, then degree-plus-diploma holders, then diploma-only holders.

Domicile Requirement:

  • You must be a domicile of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir to apply.
  • In-service government candidates can also apply, routing their form (attested by their Head of Department) through their Administrative Department.

Reservation Category Requirements:

  • If you're applying under a reserved category, you must hold a valid category certificate issued on or before the last date of application, in the format prescribed under the J&K Reservation Rules, 2005.
  • EWS candidates must submit their certificate in Form XIV-A of SRO 518 dated 02.09.2019 — no other format will be accepted.
  • SLC/OBC candidates must submit their certificate issued by the competent authority under J&K Reservation Rules. Your candidature will remain provisional until the Appointing Authority verifies your reserved category certificate.

Age Limit

  • You should be between 18 and 40 years old as on 1 January 2026 (Open Merit category).
  • Age Relaxation: SC/ST-2 candidates can apply up to 43 years. In-service government candidates get up to 40 years. Physically Challenged candidates can apply up to 42 years.

Selection Process

JKPSC will select candidates through the following stages:

  1. Written Examination: Tentatively scheduled for August 2026 at Srinagar and Jammu centres. The syllabus is available on the JKPSC website. You'll choose your preferred exam centre while applying, and once a centre is allotted, a change will not be entertained.
  2. Document Verification: You'll need to present your original certificates along with a printout of your online application.

Your admit card will be available for download about two weeks before the exam date on jkpsc.nic.in. Bring a printout of the admit card along with two recent passport-size colour photographs and a valid photo ID — Aadhaar, Voter ID, Driving Licence, PAN Card, Passport, or College/University ID card — to the examination hall.

Selection follows Rule 43(ii) of the J&K Public Service Commission (Business and Procedure) Rules, 2021.

How to Apply

  1. Go to the JKPSC portal at jkpsc.nic.in.
  2. Complete your One Time Registration (OTR) if you haven't already — fill in your personal, contact, and educational details.
  3. Log in and check the eligibility conditions for the post you want.
  4. Click "Show Examination", select this notification, and click APPLY against the post you're eligible for.
  5. Fill in the remaining details and upload your recent, date-stamped photo and signature (10kB-20kB, JPEG/JPG only).
  6. Pay the online fee and upload your Date of Birth certificate, Domicile certificate, and Degree certificate with mark sheets.
  7. Submit the form and download a printout for your records before 25 July 2026.

Note: Submitting multiple applications using different names or User IDs can get your candidature rejected — only your latest Registration ID (RID) is considered valid, and fees paid against one RID cannot be adjusted against another.
