Who Can Apply?

For Assistant Professor (All Disciplines):

  • Qualification: Master's Degree with 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates and PhD holders who got their Master's before 19 September 1991) in the relevant or allied subject, from an Indian university or an accredited foreign university.
  • You must have also cleared NET/SLET/SET conducted by UGC/CSIR, or hold a qualifying PhD under UGC (Minimum Standards) Regulations 2009/2016 (which exempts you from NET/SLET/SET, subject to conditions), or a PhD from a foreign university ranked in the world's top 500.
  • For the Music discipline, a traditional or professional artist with recognized achievement — such as an AIR/Doordarshan "A" grade artist — can also apply instead of the standard academic route.
  • Your eligibility, including qualification and any reserved-category claim, will be checked as on the last date for online applications, even if the deadline is extended later.

Age Limit

  • You should be between 18 and 40 years old (OM/General category) as on 1 January 2026.
  • Age Relaxation: Reserved category candidates can apply up to 43 years, in-service/government employees up to 40 years, and Physically Challenged candidates up to 42 years.
  • Your age is calculated strictly from your date of birth as on 1 January 2026, regardless of any extension to the application deadline.

  • Reserved Categories: Rs. 700
  • PHC (Physically Handicapped Category) Candidates: No fee
