CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (CSIR-IIIM) Project Assistant-II Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

CSIR-IIIM, Jammu, an autonomous institute under the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), Ministry of Science & Technology, has advertised 1 Project Assistant-II post through Project Advertisement No. 20/2026. This position is attached to the CSIR-funded project MMP025302, titled Bio-resource Conservation and Prospection (BioCaP), and is purely temporary in nature. Selection is entirely through a walk-in interview — there is no written exam or online application process, which means you can apply and get interviewed on the same day. This is a good opportunity for B.Sc. Botany or Biotechnology graduates, especially those with an M.Sc. in the same field, to gain research experience at a premier CSIR laboratory. The engagement will initially run for one year or until the project ends, whichever is earlier; the current project runs up to 31 March 2028, and the total tenure across all CSIR labs cannot exceed six years. CSIR-IIIM works under the Department of Scientific & Industrial Research (DSIR) and is known for research in medicinal chemistry, natural products, and bio-resources, so this role gives you exposure to real project-based scientific work rather than classroom learning.

Who Can Apply?

  • Qualification: You need a B.Sc. with Botany or Biotechnology as one of your subjects, or an equivalent qualification, from a recognized university.
  • Preferred Qualification: Candidates with an M.Sc. in Biotechnology, Botany, or an equivalent subject from a recognized university will be preferred.
  • NOC Requirement: If you are currently engaged in another CSIR-IIIM project, you must get a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from your office before applying — your candidature will not be considered without it.
  • Documents needed: Keep your 10th, 12th, and degree certificates, mark sheets, and category certificate (if applicable) ready before you go for the interview.
  • Note: The number of positions may change depending on project requirements at the time of the interview, and the Director, CSIR-IIIM reserves the right to not fill any or all of the advertised positions.

Age Limit

  • You should be up to 35 years old, calculated as on the date of the interview.
  • Age Relaxation: Relaxation is given as per Government of India rules.

Salary

  • You will get a monthly consolidated pay of Rs. 20,000 plus House Rent Allowance (HRA).
  • HRA is paid only if institutional accommodation is not availed or provided to you.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

  1. Walk-in Interview: Selection is based entirely on a personal interview. If a large number of candidates show up, the Screening Committee may revisit the screening criteria before shortlisting you for the interview.
  2. Document Verification: If you are selected or empanelled, your original documents — including educational certificates, date of birth proof, caste certificate, and age relaxation certificate — will be checked. Any discrepancy will cancel your selection.

Since this is a walk-in interview with no separate written exam, make sure you carry every original certificate and photocopy the Institute asks for — incomplete documentation on the day of the interview can cost you the opportunity.

You can choose to interact with the Selection Committee in either English or Hindi. Keep in mind that the Director, CSIR-IIIM, reserves the right to not fill any or all of the advertised positions, and canvassing in any form will disqualify your candidature. This is a purely temporary position on behalf of the sponsoring project, so it does not give you any right to a permanent post at CSIR-IIIM or CSIR.

How to Apply

  1. Download the notification and Annexure-I from iiim.res.in.
  2. Fill in Annexure-I completely, including your personal details, educational qualifications from 10th onwards, specialization, experience, and publications (if any).
