Jalpaiguri Government Medical College & Hospital (JGMCH), Jalpaiguri, has issued a walk-in interview notice (Memo No. JGMC/Pr./970, dated 29 June 2026) to engage Senior Residents on a purely contractual basis. There are 10 vacancies spread across Orthopedics, Anesthesiology, General Medicine, Pathology, Pediatrics, Pharmacology, Dermatology and Gynecology. The engagement is primarily for six months and renewable subject to satisfactory service. There is no online application — you have to attend the walk-in in person with your filled form and documents. Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You must have passed MD / MS / DNB in the respective discipline from a recognised university in India.
• Registration: You need a valid Medical Council registration. If selected, you must get West Bengal Medical Council (WBMC) registration within two months of joining.
• If you are already engaged with another institution as a Senior Resident, you must produce a No-Objection Certificate (NOC) on the interview date.

Age Limit

• Your age should not be more than 45 years as on the date of appointment.

Salary

• You will get a monthly gross stipend as fixed by the Department of Health & Family Welfare, Government of West Bengal (as per the latest approved rates).
• Note: No service benefits such as PF, pension, gratuity, medical benefits or seniority benefits are given for this contractual engagement.

Application Fee

• There is no application fee for this walk-in interview.
• No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

There is no written exam. Selection is done like this:

1. Academic Qualification: Your academic record in MBBS and MD/MS/DNB is assessed.
2. Interview: You appear before the Interview Board, and selection is based on your academic qualification and your performance in the interview.
3. Document Verification: All original documents are checked before the Interview Board on the same day.

The decision of the competent authority on selection will be final. Selected candidates are engaged subject to the outcome of any recruitment-related court case.

How to Apply

1. Fill the application form in the prescribed format given in the official notice.
2. Attach self-attested photocopies of all required documents — age proof, MBBS and MD/MS/DNB certificates and marksheets, attempt certificates, Medical Council registration, Aadhaar and PAN.
3. Reach the Principal's Office, JGMCH on 13 July 2026 between 11:00 AM and 12:30 PM to submit the form along with all original documents for verification.
4. Attend the walk-in interview from 1:00 PM onwards at the Chamber of Dean, Office of the Principal, JGMCH, 1st floor, District Health Administrative Building, Hospital Road, Jalpaiguri - 735101.

Candidates must report on time — no one will be allowed to take part in the interview after the stipulated period. If selected, you must join within 7 days of the date of appointment.
