Bank of Baroda (BOB) has released advertisement BOB/HRM/REC/ADVT/2026/16 for Local Bank Officers in Junior Management Grade/Scale-I. The recruitment combines 1,300 new vacancies and 1,182 unfilled vacancies from earlier Local Bank Officer exercises. You must choose only one state, know its specified local language, and expect to work within that state for the first 12 years of service or until promotion to SMGS-IV, whichever comes first.

PwBD vacancies are included horizontally within these totals: 42 LD, 37 HI, 26 VI and 25 d&e vacancies. Your merit is prepared state-wise and category-wise, so the state selected in the form directly controls the vacancy pool and local-language condition used for your application.
Who Can Apply?
You need both the degree and the specified banking background as on 1 August 2026. Clerical service does not count toward the experience condition, and your officer role must be in a Scheduled Commercial Bank listed in the Second Schedule of the Reserve Bank of India.
- Education: Graduation in any discipline from a recognized university or institution.
- Experience: At least 1 year of post-qualification experience as an officer in an eligible Scheduled Commercial Bank.
- Experience proof: Your current or previous employer must certify your experience and job profile; the work should substantially match a Scale-I officer profile.
- Local language: You must be able to read, write, speak and understand the language specified for the state you choose.
- Preferred certifications: IC 38, NISM Series V-A, NISM Series XXI-A or NISM Series XIII.
- One-state rule: Apply for only one state and send no more than one application.
Experience periods shorter than 6 months with an organization are not counted unless that period belongs to your current job. Existing BOB officer-cadre or contract employees, and certain former BOB officers or contract staff who left within the stated three-year window, cannot apply under the exclusions in the notice.
Age Limit
- You should be between 21 and 30 years old as on 1 August 2026.
- SC/ST: 5 years of upper-age relaxation.
- OBC Non-Creamy Layer: 3 years of upper-age relaxation.
- PwBD: 10 years for General/EWS, 13 years for OBC and 15 years for SC/ST.
- Eligible ex-servicemen: 5 years for General/EWS, 8 years for OBC and 10 years for SC/ST, subject to the service and release conditions in the advertisement.
Salary
- The JMG/S-I basic pay scale is Rs. 48,480-2,000/7-62,480-2,340/2-67,160-2,680/7-85,920.
- You receive one advance increment when you have one year or more of qualifying officer experience in a Scheduled Commercial Bank.
- Pay also includes allowances, benefits, perquisites and facilities under the banking industry settlement, Joint Note and Bank policies.
- The selected officer completes 12 months of probation.
- The current service bond requires 3 years of service or payment of three months' gross salary, capped at Rs. 2,00,000, if you leave early.

- General / EWS / OBC: Rs. 850 plus payment-gateway or transaction charges.
- SC / ST / PwBD / ESM / DESM / Women: Rs. 175 plus payment-gateway or transaction charges.
- Payment mode: Debit card, credit card, internet banking, UPI or another option available on the online gateway.
- The fee and intimation charge are non-refundable.
Selection Process
The planned process starts with a 120-question online test for 120 marks and may also include a psychometric test, Group Discussion or Personal Interview as BOB decides. Applicants who did not study the chosen state's language in Class 10 or Class 12 must also clear the Local Language Proficiency Test before the interview.
- Online Test: Four separately timed sections cover English Language, Banking Knowledge, General/Economic Awareness, and Reasoning Ability with Quantitative Aptitude.
- Local Language Proficiency Test: Shortlisted applicants must prove reading, writing, speaking and understanding of the chosen state's language unless exempt through Class 10 or Class 12 records.
- Psychometric Test, GD or Interview: BOB may use one or more of these assessments. The stated GD/PI qualifying level is 60% for General and 55% for reserved categories.
- Document and Identity Verification: Original qualification, category, experience, identity and other applicable records are checked at the later stage.
- Pre-joining Medical Examination: Provisionally selected applicants must pass the required fitness examination at their own expense before joining.
The English section is qualifying only and its marks are not added to final merit. You must meet the section-wise and overall standards set by BOB, and final selection depends on the combined process and the state-wise/category-wise merit position.

Eligibility Criteria
Minimum Qualification
