NABCONS Project Consultant Recruitment 2026: Overview

NABARD Consultancy Services (NABCONS), a wholly owned subsidiary of NABARD, is hiring Project Consultants on contract for a Programme Management Unit (PMU) that supports the Mission for Aatmanirbharta in Pulses. The PMU helps the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare (DA&FW) plan, coordinate and track the mission across States and Union Territories. These are project-based contract staff positions, not regular NABCONS jobs.

The drive suits mid-career professionals: one IT and portal-development specialist and one agri-business specialist. Expect a mix of policy writing, coordination with bodies like the PMO, NITI Aayog and line ministries, and digital tools such as dashboards and e-learning modules for the scheme.

Posts and Disciplines

• Project Consultant (IT): for engineers from Computer Science, IT or Electronics who also hold a management degree and have built portals. Working knowledge of Dot.NET gets preference. Based in New Delhi.
• Project Consultant (Agri-Business Management): for management graduates specialising in agri-business who have worked in the agriculture sector or a related field. Based in New Delhi.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Contract term: Initially six months, extendable based on project needs and your performance, or co-terminus with the project.
• Termination: NABCONS can end the contract at any time without giving a reason; in the normal course it gives three months' notice.
• Pay: A consolidated professional fee fixed on your experience, qualification and last drawn salary, with tax deducted at source.
• Posting and travel: You start in New Delhi but can be posted anywhere in India as the project needs, and you may travel often. NABCONS does not provide accommodation.
• No regular absorption: Contract staff have no claim to permanent absorption or seniority.
• Exclusive engagement: You cannot take up any other job, assignment or business during the contract; joining another organisation without informing NABCONS ends the engagement.
• Medical fitness: The appointment depends on clearing medical tests when you report at the place of posting.

• Review the pan-India pulses situation and flag gaps for the mission
• Prepare strategy documents, policy briefs and scheme documents
• Coordinate and report to the PMO, NITI Aayog and line ministries
• Help States and UTs understand scheme guidelines and build their capacity
• Monitor the scheme against performance indicators and prepare periodic review reports
• Build digital platforms, dashboards and analytics tools for real-time tracking
• Document lessons learned, success stories and best practices from the field
