About This Job

Apply for Project Technical Support II vacancy in ILS. 12th Science with diploma and experience or PG Science eligible. Last date: 23 Sep 2026.

ILS Project Technical Support II Recruitment 2026: Overview

BRIC-Institute of Life Sciences (ILS), Bhubaneswar is hiring a Project Technical Support-II worker for an Indian Council of Medical Research project on brain ageing. ILS is an autonomous institute under the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, and this position will support work that connects laboratory methods with patient-linked research data.

The project is titled Exploring the pathobiology of brain aging in Indian population. Its wider goal is to build a public-domain reference atlas and a spatial-transcriptome facility for ageing research. The technical role is closely tied to biological sample handling and laboratory support, and experience with patient tissue, metadata, tissue sectioning or immunohistochemistry will be especially useful in the project setting.

This is a walk-in opportunity at the ILS campus near Nalco Square in Bhubaneswar. The notice gives two educational routes into the role: a science-plus-technical training route backed by laboratory experience, or a postgraduate science route. Check the structured qualification carefully before travelling, because the institute will assess whether your records fit one of those routes.

Service Conditions and Caveats

  • Project tenure: the appointment is purely temporary and co-terminus with the ICMR project.
  • Nature of work: the role supports a research project rather than creating a regular post at ILS.
  • Nationality: the notice is open to Indian nationals who meet the stated role requirements.
  • Travel: ILS will not pay TA or DA for attending the walk-in interview.
  • Decision: the Director's selection decision is final, and the institute says it will not enter into further correspondence on that decision.
  • Communication: updates will be sent by email; no separate call letter will be issued.

Application Submission Notes

Download the application form linked with Advt. 34/2026 on the ILS advertisements page, fill it before you travel, and bring it with the relevant supporting records. The walk-in venue is Institute of Life Sciences, Nalco Square, Bhubaneswar, with reporting from 10:30 AM onwards.

Because this is a walk-in, there is no online form submission for the post. Present the filled form and evidence that supports your education, technical training and experience. If you want the panel to consider tissue-sample handling, patient-metadata work, sectioning or immunohistochemistry, carry records that make that experience easy to check.

Use an active email address in the application because ILS will use email for communication. For a problem with the form, the notice gives app@ils.res.in as technical support; other queries can be sent to academics@ils.res.in. Review the official notice and application form together before attending so that the information in both remains consistent.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, receive, and handle biological or patient tissue samples safely
  • Maintain accurate sample logs and patient metadata records
