IIT Gandhinagar has released Advertisement No. SPON/10455/Advt0292 dated 4 August 2026 for 2 Project Engineer (Deposition and Etch) posts under Prof. Nihar Ranjan Mohapatra in the Electrical Engineering department. This position is part of the Silicon and Advanced Semiconductor Manufacturing Research and Training Hub (SAMARTH) project. This is a temporary, project-linked position for one year, extendable based on your performance, and is ideal for candidates with hands-on experience in semiconductor deposition and etch processes.

The SAMARTH hub focuses on advanced semiconductor manufacturing, packaging and training infrastructure for India's semiconductor ecosystem. As a Project Engineer (Deposition and Etch), you will work on thin-film deposition and etching processes used in semiconductor device fabrication, supporting cleanroom operations at the IIT Gandhinagar campus in Gujarat.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification (Option 1): A Ph.D. or equivalent in the appropriate branch with a very good academic record throughout.
• Qualification (Option 2): An M.Tech./M.S. or equivalent qualification in an appropriate discipline with a minimum of 2 years of post-qualification experience in Teaching, Research, Industrial or Design roles in a reputed organization or industry.
• Academic Record: You need a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent grade from Graduation onwards, and 55% or equivalent in Class 10 and 12.

Salary

• You will get a consolidated monthly pay of Rs. 60,000 to Rs. 1,25,000, depending on your qualification and experience.
• The appointment is for one year and can be extended based on your performance.

Selection Process

The selection process includes the following steps:
