The Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IIT Gandhinagar) has released Advertisement No. SPON/70018/Advt0249 for 1 Research Associate-II position. The work is on a project titled "Field-deployable quantum-enhanced sensors on integrated hybrid platform" under the guidance of Prof. B. Prasanna Venkatesh. In this role, you will work in the areas of quantum optics, ultracold atomic physics, and quantum thermodynamics. A large part of the job is to help build field-deployable quantum-enhanced sensors of magnetic fields and to work closely with experimentalists who are part of the Quantum Sensing technical group. As a Research Associate-II, you are also expected to lead research tasks and guide junior members of the group while working directly with the Principal Investigator.

Essential Qualification

Desirable Qualification

• A consistently good academic record and a PhD in Theoretical Physics with specialization in Open Quantum Systems, Quantum Optics, and/or Ultracold Atomic Physics.
• A background in quantum sensing is preferred but not compulsory.
• Expertise in standard numerical methods used for quantum optics and ultracold atoms is an added plus.
• Enthusiasm to work on problems close to real experiments.

Salary

• You will get a consolidated salary of Rs. 65,880 per month, which already includes House Rent Allowance (HRA).
• The HRA portion, where applicable, is Rs. 4,880 per month.
• The appointment is for 1 year as a project-based (temporary) position.
