IIT Gandhinagar has released Advertisement No. SPON/70206/Advt0282 dated 21 July 2026 for 1 Project Assistant-I position under the research project "Vadnagar Glass and Its Role in Maritime Network", led by Prof. Alok Kumar Kanungo in the Humanities and Social Sciences department. This position follows Funding Agency eligibility norms rather than standard institute norms. This is a field-based job that involves documenting ancient glass artefacts found at Vadnagar, a historic town in Gujarat known for its archaeological significance in ancient trade networks, and studying India's historical maritime trade connections. What Will You Work On?

Since this is a field-based role, you should be comfortable with travel and outdoor documentation work as part of the project timeline.

Salary

• Selected candidates will get a consolidated monthly pay of Rs. 28,000 to Rs. 44,000.
