IIT Gandhinagar's Research & Development Office has released Advertisement No. SPON/10448/Advt0294 dated 11 August 2026 for 1 Post-Doctoral Fellow position under the sponsored project "Materials for Climate Conscious and Resource Efficient Construction", led by Prof. Siva Chopperla. The project focuses on turning industrial waste into low-carbon cementitious binders for concrete — a great fit if you have a research background in infrastructure materials. Eligibility for this role is assessed as per Institute norms, and even candidates who have submitted their PhD dissertation but not yet received the degree can apply, though the pay may be adjusted if selected.

Who Can Apply?

• Essential Qualification: PhD in Civil Engineering (candidates who have submitted their dissertation may also apply and will be considered, subject to remuneration being adjusted accordingly)
• Academic Record: Minimum 60% or equivalent grade from graduation onward, and 55% or equivalent grade in Class 10th and 12th
• Desirable Background: A strong understanding of infrastructure materials, with hands-on lab experience in cementitious materials characterization or concrete durability testing; a good grasp of cement chemistry will be given preference
• Skills: Strong written and oral communication skills, and the ability to collaborate closely with other members of the project team

Salary

• You will get a consolidated monthly salary of Rs. 72,000 to Rs. 84,000, based on your qualifications and experience.
• This is a 1-year fixed-term appointment, and the salary is a consolidated amount with no separate allowances.
