IIT Gandhinagar's Research & Development Office has released Advertisement No. SPON/10455/Advt0288 dated 4 August 2026 for one Project Engineer (Lithography) position under Prof. Nihar Ranjan Mohapatra in the Electrical Engineering department. The role supports SAMARTH - the Silicon and Advanced Semiconductor Manufacturing Research and Training Hub - one of the Institute's flagship programs working to build India's semiconductor manufacturing capability. The appointment is for one year and can be extended based on your performance, which makes this a strong stepping stone if you want hands-on experience in chip fabrication and lithography research at a top-tier institute.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: A Ph.D. or equivalent in an appropriate branch of engineering with a very good academic record throughout, OR an M.Tech/M.S. or equivalent qualification in an appropriate discipline with a minimum of 2 years of post-qualification experience in teaching, research, industrial work or design in an organization of repute.
• Academic Record: You need a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent grade from your graduation onwards, and at least 55% in Class 10 and Class 12.
• Meeting the minimum eligibility criteria alone does not guarantee shortlisting or appointment - the Institute may apply a higher cutoff and is not obligated to fill the position through this round of selection.

Age Limit

• There is no fixed upper age limit for this position - it will be decided as per Institute requirement.

Salary

• You will get a consolidated monthly pay of Rs. 60,000 to Rs. 1,25,000, depending on your qualification and experience.
• The appointment is for one year, extendable based on your performance and the requirements of the SAMARTH project.

Selection Process

IIT Gandhinagar will shortlist candidates based on the documents you submit:
