IISER Tirupati JRF Recruitment 2026 — 1 Post

Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Tirupati, an autonomous Institution of National Importance under the Ministry of Education, Government of India, has invited applications for the post of Junior Research Fellow under the DST-SERB funded project titled "Regulatory interactions of NMD pathway with hsrω lncRNAs and their impact on Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) in Drosophila". The project is led by Dr. Anand Kumar Singh (Project Code: 30224199). This is a contract position — it is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project. Candidates selected may also apply for the regular PhD program at IISER Tirupati if they meet the eligibility criteria.

Who Can Apply?

Essential Qualifications

• Degree: M.Sc. in Life Sciences, Zoology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, or a related subject with at least 55% marks from a recognised university
• Qualifying Test: You must have a valid CSIR-UGC NET / GATE score, or have cleared any National Level Test conducted by Central Government Departments and their agencies

Desirable Qualification

• Experience in Cell Biology, Genetics, or Molecular Biology is preferred but not mandatory

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 28 years as on the closing date (05 May 2026)

Stipend / Fellowship

• Monthly stipend: Rs. 37,000 per month (consolidated)
• HRA: 10% of stipend (Rs. 3,700/month)
• Total: Rs. 40,700 per month approximately
• Stipend is applicable for candidates with valid CSIR / UGC-JRF / NET / GATE or Qualified National Level Test

Selection Process

Selection will be done in 2 stages:

1. Screening / Shortlisting: Based on qualifications and experience above the minimum prescribed. The Screening Committee may limit interview calls to a reasonable number. Meeting the minimum eligibility alone does not guarantee an interview call.
2. Interview: Tentative interview dates are 10–15 May 2026. Shortlisted candidates will be informed by email. No TA/DA is paid for attending the interview.
