DME AP Senior Resident Recruitment 2026 — 234 Vacancies

The Directorate of Medical Education, Andhra Pradesh (DME AP) is hiring 234 Senior Residents in Broad and Super Specialties across government medical colleges and hospitals in the state. If you have a postgraduate degree (MD/MS/DNB) in the concerned speciality, you can apply online between 15 and 19 July 2026. You must be under 44 years of age (up to 50 years for select pre-clinical and para-clinical subjects). Selected candidates will get Rs. 80,500 per month for Broad Specialties.

The Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Andhra Pradesh has released Notification No. 2/2026, dated 10 July 2026, to fill 234 Senior Resident posts in Broad and Super Specialties at government medical colleges and hospitals across the state. The number of vacancies is provisional and may increase or decrease. Both local and non-local candidates with AP Medical Council registration can apply, though preference is given to local candidates for each post.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: Postgraduate degree (MD/MS) in the concerned speciality, or DNB in Broad Specialties from an institution with an attached hospital, or a hospital with 500 or more beds recognised by the National Board of Examination, as per the Teachers Eligibility Qualifications in Medical Institutions Regulations, 2022.
• Registration: You must be registered with the Andhra Pradesh Medical Council.
• Eligibility Standard: Eligibility follows National Medical Commission (NMC) regulations.
• Local Candidature: Local candidates of Andhra Pradesh are preferred. Non-local candidates with AP Medical Registration are eligible only if local candidates are not available for a post. Local candidature means you studied at least 4 years between 4th and 10th class in Andhra Pradesh (or hold the required migration certificate if you studied in Telangana before bifurcation).

Age Limit

• You must not have crossed 44 years of age as on the date of notification (10 July 2026).
• Age Relaxation: The age limit is 50 years for pre-clinical and para-clinical subjects — Anatomy, Physiology, Pharmacology, Pathology, Microbiology and Forensic Medicine.

Salary

• Selected candidates for Broad Specialties will get an honorarium of Rs. 80,500 per month, as per G.O.Ms. No. 723, HM&FW (C1) Department, dated 4 December 2024.
• The post is a tenured position for 1 year, and you must compulsorily complete the full one-year tenure once selected.

2. Register and fill in the online application form for Senior Resident, Broad and Super Specialties.
3. Upload your SSC certificate, AP Medical Council registration, and MBBS and PG (MD/MS/DNB) certificates and mark lists.
4. Upload your study certificate (4th to 10th class) as proof of local candidature, and your social status/community certificate.
5. Submit your application online before 19 July 2026.

• Assist senior faculty and consultants during rounds, procedures and surgeries

• Participate in academic activities, seminars and clinical audits of the department
• Follow hospital protocols for infection control and patient safety
