IISER Tirupati Junior Research Fellow Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Tirupati, an autonomous institution of national importance under the Ministry of Education, has released Advertisement No. 51/2026 for 1 Junior Research Fellow position. The JRF will work under Principal Investigator Dr. Rajeswari Appadurai on the project "Unravelling How Intrinsically Disordered Regions Drive Dynamic Allostery Using Integrative Modelling and Machine Learning", funded by ANRF-PMECRG (Project Code 30226254). The post is purely temporary and co-terminous with the project — it is renewed every six months based on your performance. This is a good opportunity if you're interested in computational biology research combining molecular modelling and machine learning.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: A Master's degree in Biotechnology, Computational Biology, Data Science, Biology, Life Sciences, Biochemistry or an equivalent discipline, with at least 55% marks. A provisional degree is accepted at the time of joining.
• Mandatory test: You must have qualified CSIR-UGC NET/GATE or any other national-level test conducted by a Central Government department or agency.
• Desirable: Experience in computational biology techniques such as molecular dynamics simulations and docking, along with Python and R programming and machine learning skills.

Age Limit

• You should be not more than 30 years old as on the closing date of the advertisement (28 July 2026).

Salary

• You will get a consolidated fellowship of Rs. 37,000 plus 10% HRA per month, based on your fellowship eligibility (CSIR/UGC-JRF/NET/GATE/qualified national-level test).
• The position is temporary, renewed every six months based on satisfactory performance, and is co-terminous with the project.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

There is no written test for this post. Selection happens through:

1. Screening: The Screening Committee reviews all applications and may shortlist candidates based on qualifications and experience if the number of applicants is high.
2. Interview: Only shortlisted candidates are notified by email for an interview. You must bring your original certificates and one set of photocopies for verification at the interview.

No TA/DA will be given for attending the interview.
