ANGRAU has released a notification to fill 1 Senior Research Fellow post at the Agricultural Market Intelligence Centre (AMIC), Regional Agricultural Research Station, Lam, Guntur, under the RKVY-RAFTAR project (Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana — Remunerative Approaches for Agriculture and Allied Sector Rejuvenation). This is a temporary, project-linked position for a duration of 10 months, or until the project ends, whichever comes first. If you enjoy agricultural market research, price forecasting, and data analysis for farm commodities, this role gives you hands-on project experience at a government agricultural university.

ANGRAU is the state agricultural university for Andhra Pradesh, and it runs research stations across several districts, including RARS Lam in Guntur. These stations regularly engage short-term project staff — Research Associates, Teaching Associates, and Senior Research Fellows — to support ICAR and state government funded agricultural research. As a Senior Research Fellow at AMIC, you will study how agricultural markets move: tracking prices for principal crops, building monthly price forecasts, and examining how well local markets are linked to each other. Your findings are meant to help farmers and policymakers make more informed decisions about when and where to sell key crops, and centres like AMIC typically feed their forecasts into farmer advisories issued through agricultural extension networks in the state. Because the post is tied to project funding, your appointment will continue only as long as the AMIC project remains active at RARS Lam, up to a maximum of 10 months from your date of joining.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: M.Sc. in Agricultural Economics or M.Sc. in Agricultural Statistics, after a 4-year Bachelor's Degree from an ICAR-accredited university.
• Note: Your Bachelor's Degree must specifically be of 4 years' duration and recognized by ICAR, since this project requires candidates trained under the standard agricultural university curriculum rather than a general science degree.

Age Limit

• Maximum age is 35 years for men and 40 years for women.

Salary

• You will get Rs. 37,000 per month plus HRA as per existing state government rates applicable to your work location.
• The exact HRA amount depends on the housing classification of Guntur under Andhra Pradesh government norms, and it is paid on top of your fixed monthly pay of Rs. 37,000.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is entirely through a walk-in interview:

1. Walk-in Interview: Attend in person at RARS, Lam with your bio-data, a set of photocopies of your educational and other certificates, the originals for verification, and a passport-size photo.

The interview panel at RARS Lam will typically ask about your academic background, your understanding of agricultural market trends, and any relevant project or research experience. Since there is no written test for this post, come prepared to discuss your subject knowledge confidently and clearly.

No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview. The post is purely temporary on a contract basis and can be terminated at any time without assigning a reason.
