IISER Tirupati, an autonomous institute of national importance under the Ministry of Education, has released Advertisement No. 50/2026 to fill one contract post of Technical Officer/Senior Project Associate. The position is attached to an extramural research project titled "Immune responses associated with severe dengue infection" (Project Code 30425204), led by Prof. Guruprasad R. Medigeshi. This is a purely contractual role, co-terminus with the project — the initial offer is for six months and can be renewed based on your performance. Taking up this role gives you hands-on exposure to virology and immunology research under an experienced Principal Investigator, along with access to the institute's labs and equipment.

Who Can Apply?

This project needs someone comfortable working in a virology and immunology lab setting. You can qualify through any one of these three educational and experience paths:

Essential Qualification (you need to meet ONE of the following paths):

• A 4-year Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Natural/Agricultural Sciences, a BVSc, or a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology or Medicine, along with 4 years of R&D experience in industrial, academic or S&T organizations
• A Master's Degree in Engineering/Technology (Biological Sciences) with 2 years of R&D experience in industrial, academic or S&T organizations
• A Doctoral Degree (PhD) in Life Science, Bio-Engineering or Biotechnology, with at least one first-author peer-reviewed publication indexed in PubMed, SCOPUS or a similar database

Desirable Experience:

• Hands-on experience in infectious disease research, mammalian cell culture, handling of pathogenic viruses, protein expression/purification, and molecular biology techniques will strengthen your application

The qualifications listed above are the bare minimum — the Screening Committee may shortlist a limited number of candidates for interview based on qualifications and experience above this minimum, since a large number of applications is expected. Age Limit

• You should not be more than 50 years old as on the date of the interview.

Salary

• Selected candidates will get Rs. 57,000 per month plus 10% House Rent Allowance (HRA).
• No other allowances are mentioned in the notification, and no TA/DA is paid for attending the interview.

Selection Process

Because this is a project-specific contractual position, there is no written exam. The selection will be done in the following stages:
