Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) Technical Assistant Grade III Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

CUSAT has released a re-notification (No. Ad.G2/MG&G/T.S/2020, dated 16 June 2026) for 1 Technical Assistant Grade III post in its Department of Marine Geology and Geophysics. This is a contract position where you will be engaged from July to April every year, with a break during the May-June vacation months. The initial contract runs for one year and can be extended up to two years depending on your performance and the department's requirements. If you have a science background in marine geology along with hands-on lab work, this role gives you a chance to support ongoing research in a specialised university department.

CUSAT started out as the University of Cochin in 1971 and was renamed Cochin University of Science and Technology in 1986. It is a Kerala state government-owned university that focuses on applied science, technology, and research, with departments spread across marine sciences, engineering, and other technology streams. The Department of Marine Geology and Geophysics is one of its specialised research units, working on topics like ocean floor mapping, sediment analysis, and coastal geophysics.

Age Limit

• You should be between 18 and 40 years old as on 1 January 2026.

Salary

• Selected candidates will get a consolidated pay of Rs. 41,970 per month for the contract period.
• This is a fixed contract salary rather than a regular pay scale, so there is no separate grade pay attached to it.
• Since the role runs from July to April each year with a break during the May-June vacation months, you are paid for the months you are actively engaged.
