National Institute of Design, Andhra Pradesh (NID AP) Multi-Post Recruitment 2026 - 22 Posts

NID AP, an autonomous multi-disciplinary design institute of national importance under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, has released a notification to fill 22 posts across 10 different designations. The recruitment covers Principal Designer, Faculty, Senior Accounts Officer, Senior Assistant Librarian, Assistant, Associate Senior Technical Instructor, Associate Senior Design Instructor, Design Instructor, Technical Instructor and Technical Assistant roles, spread across Industrial Design, Textile and Apparel Design, Communication Design and Inter-Disciplinary Design Studies. Senior posts (Principal Designer, Faculty, Senior Accounts Officer, Senior Assistant Librarian) can be filled by deputation, direct recruitment or short-term contract, while the rest are filled by direct recruitment only. Who Can Apply?

Principal Designer (Level 13, 3 posts):

• PG Degree/PG Diploma in Design with minimum 10 years' experience in the relevant design field. Doctorate in Design is desirable.

Faculty (Level 10, 4 posts):

• Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Design (after 10+2, minimum 3 years) with at least 5 years' experience in Inter-Disciplinary Design Studies.

Senior Accounts Officer (Level 10, 1 post):

• Master's Degree in Commerce/Financial Management or C.A., with at least 5 years' relevant experience in Government/Educational/Research Institution finance and accounts.

Senior Assistant Librarian (Level 07, 1 post):

• Bachelor's Degree in Library Science/Information Science with library automation experience and 5 years' service as Assistant Librarian.

Assistant (Level 04, 2 posts):

• Bachelor's degree from a recognised university with computer knowledge.

Associate Sr. Technical Instructor (Level 07, 2 posts):

• Bachelor's Degree or 3-year Diploma after 10th in Mechanical/Industrial/Production Engineering or Fashion/Apparel Design/Garment Technology, with 4 years (degree) or 6 years (diploma) of post-qualification experience.

Associate Sr. Design Instructor (Level 07, 2 posts):

• Bachelor's Degree or 3-year Diploma after 10th in Mechanical/Industrial/Electronics/Mechatronics Engineering or Communication Design/Animation/Digital Media, with 4 years (degree) or 6 years (diploma) of experience.

Design Instructor (Level 06, 2 posts):

• 3-year Diploma after SSC (with 4 years' experience) or Bachelor's Degree (with 2 years' experience) in Communication Design/Graphic Design/UI-UX Design or Carpentry/Ceramics/Pottery.

Technical Instructor (Level 06, 2 posts):

• 3-year Diploma after SSC (with 4 years' experience) or Bachelor's Degree (with 2 years' experience) in Photography/Film Making/Sound Design or Handloom & Textile Technology.

Technical Assistant (Level 05, 3 posts):

• 1-year ITI Certificate (CTS) with 4 years' experience, or 3-year Diploma after 10th with 2 years' experience, in Arts & Crafts/Handicrafts, Handloom & Textile Technology or Printing Technology.

Age Limit

• Principal Designer: Up to 55 years (Direct Recruitment/Short-term contract), up to 56 years (Deputation)
• Faculty: Up to 45 years (Direct Recruitment/Short-term contract), up to 56 years (Deputation)
• Senior Accounts Officer: Up to 40 years
• Senior Assistant Librarian: Up to 35 years
• Assistant: Up to 25 years
• Associate Sr. Technical/Design Instructor, Design Instructor, Technical Instructor: Up to 35 years
• Technical Assistant: Up to 30 years
• Age is calculated as on the closing date of online application (2 August 2026). Age Relaxation: As per Government of India rules for SC and OBC-NCL candidates, applicable only for reserved vacancies.

Salary

• Principal Designer (Level 13): Rs. 1,23,100 per month (entry pay)
• Faculty / Senior Accounts Officer (Level 10): Rs. 56,100 per month
• Senior Assistant Librarian / Associate Sr. Technical Instructor / Associate Sr. Design Instructor (Level 07): Rs. 44,900 per month
• Design Instructor / Technical Instructor (Level 06): Rs. 35,400 per month
• Technical Assistant (Level 05): Rs. 29,200 per month
• Assistant (Level 04): Rs. 25,500 per month
• You will also get DA, HRA, TA and other allowances as per Central Government rules.

• Below Group A posts (all other posts): Rs. 300
• SC / ST / PwD / Ex-Servicemen / Women candidates: No fee

Selection Process

The selection will be done in these stages:

1. Shortlisting: Based on the information you provide in your online application.
2. Written Test/Skill Test: For posts where the Institute decides a test is needed.
3. Presentation/Demonstration/Interview: Shortlisted candidates are called for a final interview, and design posts may include a presentation or demonstration round.
4. Document Verification: Original certificates are verified before appointment.
