Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, is a Centrally Funded Technical Institute under the Ministry of Education. Advertisement No. R(HR)/Recruitment-1/2026 dated 26 May 2026 is for Deputy Administrative Officer posts in Group B on deputation. Selection is solely through a Job-oriented Aptitude Test with 100% weightage, and the test is tentatively scheduled for 3 July 2026.

Who Can Apply?

Educational Qualification

• Degree: You need a Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 50% marks.
• Citizenship: You must be a citizen of India.

Service Requirement

• Eligible Service: Staff from Central/State Government, UTs, Central Universities, Institutions, Autonomous Bodies, Central Government Laboratories, Statutory Organisations, PSU, or PSEs can apply.
• Post Level: You must be holding an analogous post, or have at least 5 years of experience as Superintendent or equivalent in Pay Level 07 and above as per 7th CPC.
• Equivalence Proof: PSU or autonomous body candidates with different pay scales must submit an equivalence certificate, otherwise the experience may not be counted.

Age Limit

• Maximum age limit is 56 years.
• The notice does not list separate category-wise relaxation for this deputation recruitment.

Salary

• Pay Matrix: Level 08 as per 7th CPC.
• Pay range: Rs. 47,600 to Rs. 1,51,100 per month.
• Deputation terms will follow DoPT OM No. 6/8/2009-Estt. (Pay-II) dated 17 June 2010 and later Government of India guidelines.
• Usual allowances will apply as per Government of India / IISc deputation rules.

Application Fee

• SC / ST / PwBD / Ex-servicemen / Transgender / Women: Rs. 50 processing fee.
• Other candidates: Rs. 450 application fee plus Rs. 50 processing fee, total Rs. 500.
• The fee once paid will not be refunded or adjusted.

Selection Process

The selection will be done through a Job-oriented Aptitude Test. The test carries 100% weightage, so your final selection depends on performance in this test.

1. Online Application Scrutiny: IISc may restrict the number of candidates admitted to the test based on qualifications and experience.
2. Job-oriented Aptitude Test: The test has 100 questions for 100 marks and a duration of 90 minutes.
3. Document Verification: Educational qualification, experience, NOC, vigilance clearance, integrity certificate, and other documents will be checked.
4. Medical Fitness: Appointment is subject to the selected candidate being found medically fit as per IISc requirements.

Exam Pattern

• Total Questions: 100 questions.
• Total Marks: 100 marks.
• Duration: 1.5 hours, or 90 minutes.
• Part I: 50 questions from General Administration, Finance & Accounts, and Purchase & Stores.
• Part II: 30 questions from General Knowledge, General Intelligence, General English, and General Mathematics.
• Part III: 20 questions from SAP Proficiency.
• Tentative Test Date: 3 July 2026.

• Process finance, grant-in-aid, budgeting, auditing, and accounting records as required
• Support procurement through GFR, Government e-Marketplace, CPP Portal, and contract management
• Use SAP modules related to human resources, finance, and purchase functions
