The Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore has released a notification (Advertisement No. R(HR)Temp-11(PSW-2-WC)/2026) for 1 Psychiatric Social Worker in the campus Wellness Centre. In this role, you will support students and staff who are dealing with mental health problems. Selection is through an interview only — there is no written exam. Freshers with the required qualification can apply, and one year of experience is preferred but not compulsory.

Who Can Apply?

• Essential Qualification: M.Phil in Psychiatric Social Work
• Desirable: One year of relevant experience (preferred, not mandatory)
• Nationality: Only Indian nationals can apply

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 45 years (as on the last date of application, 20 July 2026)

Salary

• You will get a consolidated salary of Rs. 48,000 per month
• An increment of up to 10% may be given at the time of contract extension, based on your performance
• Free accommodation is provided on the Institute campus in the hostel during your stay
• No other benefits like PF, pension, gratuity or medical allowance are provided under this contract

Selection Process

Selection is done in a single stage:

1. Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview at the IISc campus, Bangalore. If needed, the interview may be held online through Zoom or Microsoft Teams.

No written test is held. Only shortlisted candidates get a call letter by email, so check your registered email often. No TA/DA is paid for attending the interview.

• Run regular awareness training on mental health and mental hygiene for staff and the campus community
• Maintain case records and prepare reports for each patient
• Stay available on campus on working days and Saturdays, and attend emergencies when needed
