Mumbai Port Authority Senior Deputy Chief Medical Officer (Radiology) Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post
Mumbai Port Authority, a Major Port Authority under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, has issued a recruitment notice (No. GAD/P/RECT-Sr.Dy.CMO/2216 dated 22 June 2026) to fill the post of Senior Deputy Chief Medical Officer (Radiology) on deputation. This is a Class-I, Head of Department level post. The Sr. Dy. Chief Medical Officer cadre runs across faculties such as Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Pathology, Anaesthesia, and Radiology - this notice is for the Radiology faculty. Selection is by merit, and your overall APAR grading for the last 5 years should not be below "Very Good". If you are a specialist radiologist already working in a government or public sector hospital, this is a senior deputation opening at one of India's biggest ports.
Who Can Apply?
- Essential Qualification: MBBS from a recognised university, plus a Post Graduate medical degree in Radiology from a recognised university.
- Experience: 10 years of post-qualification experience in a hospital in the field of Radiology.
- Deputation Eligibility: You should be an officer holding an analogous post, or the post of Dy. Chief Medical Officer (Specialist) / equivalent Specialist post in the pay scale of Rs. 13,000-18,250, with 3 years of regular service in that grade in a Government / Semi-Government / PSU / Autonomous Body.
- Your overall APAR grading for the last 5 years (2020-21 to 2024-25) should not be below "Very Good".
Salary
- The pay scale for this post is Rs. 80,000 to Rs. 2,20,000 per month (pre-revised Rs. 16,000-20,800 / Rs. 32,900-58,000).
- You will also get allowances as per Mumbai Port Authority and Government of India rules for deputation posts.
Selection Process (No Written Exam)
There is no written exam for this deputation post. Selection is by merit through a Services Selection Committee:
- Merit-Based Shortlisting: Candidates are judged on their service record and APAR grading (not below "Very Good") for the last 5 years.
- Document and Vigilance Verification: Your APARs, NOC, integrity certificate, and vigilance clearance are checked.
- Final Selection: The Services Selection Committee recommends the selected candidate.

Your administrative organisation must forward these along with the application:
- Attested APARs for the last 5 years (2020-21 to 2024-25) and a statement of year-wise APAR grading.
- No Objection Certificate (NOC) and attested copies of qualification and experience certificates.
- Vigilance clearance report signed by the CVO and administrative clearance of the concerned port.
- An undertaking that you will not withdraw your candidature if selected. Withdrawing after selection can lead to a two-year debarment from Dy. HoD level posts in all Major Port Authorities.

Responsibilities
- Lead the radiology department at the Mumbai Port Authority hospital.
- Perform and report X-ray, ultrasound, CT, and other imaging investigations.
- Support the diagnosis and treatment of port employees, pensioners, and their families.
- Guide junior doctors, radiographers, and technicians in the imaging unit.
- Follow radiation safety rules and keep equipment and records up to standard.
- Manage the day-to-day administration of the radiology department.
- Coordinate with other specialists for patient care and referrals.

MBBS from a recognised university plus a Post Graduate medical degree in Radiology from a recognised university.
