International Institute for Population Sciences (IIPS) Senior Research Officer Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post
IIPS, established in 1956 and declared a Deemed University in 1985, is India's premier institute for population and demographic research, functioning under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. It is now recruiting for a project titled "Menarche to Menopause: Understanding Menstrual Health Trajectories through Life Course Approach among Tribal Women in Maharashtra." This is a Mumbai-based, full-time position on a contract basis. The role focuses on menstrual and reproductive health research among tribal communities, making it a strong fit for researchers with a background in demography, public health, or social sciences and experience running field surveys.
About the Research Project
The project studies menstrual health trajectories across the life course among tribal women in Maharashtra, tracking how menstrual health changes from menarche (first period) through to menopause. As Senior Research Officer, you will play a lead role in this study, working closely with the project's core research team. IIPS regularly runs large-scale, multi-year research projects like the National Family Health Survey (NFHS) and works with organizations across India on population and public health research — this project adds to that body of work with a focused look at tribal women's health.
