IIPS (International Institute for Population Sciences), Mumbai is hiring 5 Consultants across its Establishment & Administration, Store Section, Director's Office and NIDP sections, plus 1 Legal Advisor on a retainer basis. International Institute for Population Sciences (IIPS) Consultant & Legal Advisor Recruitment 2026 - 5 Posts

IIPS, a Deemed-to-be University functioning under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, has invited applications for 5 Consultant and Legal Advisor positions across five different sections/offices. Each section has exactly 1 vacancy — Establishment & Administration, Store Section, Director's Office, NIDP (civil-engineering related works), and a Legal Advisor for the Institute's court and legal matters. Some posts, like Establishment & Administration, are open to retired Central Government employees engaged on a nomination basis, while others like Store Section, NIDP and Legal Advisor are open to experienced professionals in their respective fields.

Who Can Apply?

Consultant – Establishment & Administration:

• This post is meant for a retired Central Government employee engaged on contract, appointed by nomination based on past service credentials, to give expert opinion and guidance on establishment matters.

Consultant – Store Section:

• Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics or a related discipline. A diploma/certification in Materials or Inventory Management is an added advantage.
• Experience: Minimum 2-5 years in procurement, inventory management, stores or warehouse administration, ideally in a government organisation, PSU or autonomous body.
• Skills: Knowledge of procurement procedures and inventory control; proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel); familiarity with ERP or inventory management software is desirable.

Consultant – Director's Office (Administrative Manager):

• You will coordinate meetings, official visits and appointments for the Director, liaise with Ministries and statutory bodies, and handle confidential institutional matters, so relevant administrative coordination experience is expected.

Consultant – NIDP:

• Qualification: Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognised university/institution.
• Experience: Minimum 10 years in planning, execution, supervision, maintenance and monitoring of civil works/projects, preferably in Government, PSUs or autonomous bodies, including tendering and contract management.
• Skills: Familiarity with CPWD/PWD specifications and General Financial Rules (GFR); ability to prepare estimates, BOQs and tender documents; proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office is desirable.

Legal Advisor (Retainer Lawyer):

• Qualification: Bachelor's Degree in Law (LL.B.) with enrolment at the Bar Council of India/State Bar Council and a valid Certificate of Practice. An LL.M. is an added advantage.
• Experience: Minimum 7-10 years of post-qualification experience in litigation, arbitration, service matters and disciplinary proceedings, with proven experience appearing before courts and tribunals.
• Age Limit: Not more than 65 years.

Age Limit

• The notification specifies an age limit of not more than 65 years for the Legal Advisor post.
• Age limits for the other four Consultant posts are not separately specified, though the Establishment & Administration post is meant for a retired Central Government employee who has reached the standard service age bar.

Selection Process

Candidates are engaged based on review of their CV and supporting documents against the eligibility criteria for each post. The Establishment & Administration Consultant post is filled by nomination of a retired Central Government employee rather than through open competition. Each engagement is initially limited to a period of three months, as per Ministry of Finance guidelines for engaging retired employees as consultants.
