Competition Commission of India (CCI) Member Recruitment 2026 - 2 Posts

The Ministry of Corporate Affairs has released a notification inviting applications for 2 posts of Member in the Competition Commission of India, the statutory body that enforces India's competition law. This is a senior, quasi-judicial appointment made under Section 8(2) of the Competition Act, 2002, open to both serving government officers and professionals from the private sector. No specific degree is prescribed — what matters is deep domain expertise and a proven professional track record. Selected candidates will serve at the CCI headquarters in Delhi.

CCI is the regulatory body responsible for enforcing the Competition Act, 2002 across India. It examines complaints of anti-competitive agreements and abuse of a dominant market position, reviews mergers and acquisitions (combinations) for their impact on competition, and advises the government on competition policy. As a Member, you would sit alongside the Chairperson and other Members on cases that shape how businesses compete fairly in Indian markets — a role that combines regulatory, quasi-judicial, and policy responsibilities.

Who Can Apply?

• Nationality: Only Indian Nationals can apply.
• Experience: You need at least 15 years of professional experience in international trade, economics, business, commerce, law, finance, accountancy, management, industry, technology, public affairs, or competition matters (including competition law and policy).
• Standing: You must be a person of ability, integrity, and standing, with expertise the Central Government considers useful to the Commission.
• Tenure: The Member's term is 5 years from the date of joining, or until 65 years of age, whichever is earlier.
• Government Employees: If you are a serving government servant, send your application through proper channel along with certificates from your cadre-controlling authority (Appendix-A), and be ready to resign or seek retirement before joining if selected.

Salary

• Selected Members will get a consolidated monthly salary of Rs. 5,00,000.
• This is a consolidated pay — house and car facilities are not provided separately.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

There is no written exam for this post. Selection is based on your application, credentials, and government scrutiny.

1. Application Screening: Your application form (Annexure-I) will be screened for eligibility and 15+ years of relevant experience.
2. Document Verification: You must submit self-attested educational certificates, proof of date of birth, and details of your professional experience.
3. Referee Testimonials: If you are not a serving government servant, you must attach testimonials from two referees in responsible positions (not relatives), with their address, contact number, and email.
4. Medical Examination: You may be asked to appear for a medical examination if required by the Central Government.
5. Joining: If selected, you are expected to join the post within one month of the offer of appointment.
