IIT Delhi Project Manager Recruitment 2026: Overview

Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) is hiring a Project Manager for the AdaptAIR project at its School of Public Policy. AdaptAIR studies Climate Adaptation through Artificial Ice Reservoirs (AIRs) in the Himalayas (RM00195F), is funded by the European Research Council Executive Agency (ERCEA) under Horizon, and is led by Prof. Anshu Ogra.

This post is administrative rather than research. You keep the project running day to day — handling expenses, purchase paperwork, vendors and the inventory — while working with the accounts and store sections, School of Public Policy staff and international collaborators. The post is filled on contract through the institute's Industrial Research and Development (IRD) Unit under Advertisement No. IITD/IRD/301/2026.

Hands-on experience with GeM and non-GeM purchases, bill processing and office rules followed in government offices or educational institutions will give you a real edge here. The notice also looks for a professional attitude and the habit of finishing tasks systematically and proactively.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Nature of appointment: Contractual with a consolidated pay, renewed every year or up to the end of the project, whichever comes first.
• Project tenure: The project runs up to 29 February 2032; the post does not continue beyond the project.
• Nationality: Only Indian nationals can apply.
• Marks relaxation: SC/ST candidates may get a 5% relaxation in marks.
• Retired government employees: If a retired or superannuated government employee is selected, the pay is fixed as per prevailing IRD norms.
• Shortlisting: IIT Delhi can set higher criteria than the advertised ones to shortlist candidates, and only shortlisted candidates are called for the online interview.

• Manage day-to-day project expenses such as stationery and meeting costs
• Complete the paperwork for project purchases, including GeM and non-GeM procedures

• Manage the Principal Investigator's calendar and organise meetings and conferences
• Process bills and keep project accounts in order
• Work with School of Public Policy staff and the project's international collaborators
