IIT Delhi Junior Project Assistant Recruitment 2026: Overview

Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi), through its Industrial Research and Development (IRD) Unit, is hiring a Junior Project Assistant (Tech.) for a research project in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering. The project, "Development of PUF for security applications" (RM00133G), is funded by the Department of Defence Research and Development and led by Prof. Nirat Ray.

This is a contractual project job with consolidated pay, not a regular institute post. It suits graduates who have spent several years in project administration, accounts, documentation or training, and who know how research projects are run and how to coordinate with funding agencies and government departments.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Contract terms: The appointment is renewed yearly or lasts until the project ends, whichever is earlier; the project currently runs up to 29 April 2028.
• Indian nationals only: Only Indian citizens can apply.
• SC/ST marks relaxation: SC and ST candidates may get a 5% relaxation in the marks requirement.
• Retired government employees: If a retired or superannuated government employee is selected, the pay is fixed as per prevailing IRD norms.
