EPI Consultant Expert IT Recruitment 2026: Overview

Engineering Projects (India) Limited (EPI), a Mini Ratna central public sector enterprise under the Ministry of Heavy Industries, is looking for a Consultant/Expert in IT at its New Delhi office. EPI builds turnkey projects in the power, steel, industrial, civil and infrastructure sectors, and this consultant will help the company find and win IT and telecom work. The engagement is contractual, for one year at first and extendable up to three years.

The post is pitched at a senior executive grade, and the pay rules and document list are written for retired Government and PSU employees. So it suits senior IT and telecom professionals who have recently superannuated and still want to stay close to big project work.

EPI wants someone with long experience in telecommunications or IT project management or technical leadership. Exposure to Network Management Systems, Element Management Systems and OSS (Operational Support Systems), network design, scalable IT architecture and work with government departments or PSUs is a plus. For M.Tech holders, a specialisation in Electronics and Communication, IT, Computer Science or Electrical and Electronics is preferred.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Pay linked to last pay: Your consolidated pay depends on your last pay drawn and whether you receive a pension from public funds, subject to a fixed ceiling.
• Tenure: One year at first, extendable up to three years or until you turn 65, whichever comes first, based on your performance and EPI's needs.
• No regular job claim: The selected candidate has no claim to a regular appointment with EPI.
• Experience rule: Years spent as a freelancer, self-employed or running your own business do not count towards post-qualification experience.
• Recognised degree: Your qualification must be recognised by AICTE, UGC or another statutory authority or board.
• No TA/DA: You arrange your own travel and stay for the interview and for joining.
• Changes to the post: EPI may cancel, restrict, enlarge or modify the requirement and change the number of vacancies without notice.
• False information: Wrong or incomplete details can cancel your candidature or end your engagement even after joining.
