IRCON Manager/Electrical Recruitment 2026: Overview

IRCON International Limited (IRCON), a Navratna public sector company under the Ministry of Railways, is hiring Manager/Electrical staff on contract for its Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) projects in the Lumding and Tinsukia Divisions. IRCON builds turnkey railway, highway, building and power projects in India and abroad, and these posts support the electrical side of its NFR work. Selection happens through walk-in interviews in Kolkata and Guwahati, so there is no online form to fill. If you are an electrical engineer with real site experience in railways, metro rail or power utilities, this drive is aimed at you.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Project-only contract: The posts belong to the NFR projects, not to IRCON's regular establishment. The job ends with the project and gives you no right to absorption or to a posting on other IRCON projects.
• Contract term: You are first engaged for 18 months; this can be extended by one more year if your work is satisfactory and the project still needs you.
• Fixed pay, no extra allowances: The consolidated pay is all-inclusive and rises by an annual increment of 5% after each completed year. TA/DA is paid only when you are sent on outstation duty.
• Health insurance: You buy your own Rs. 3 lakh health policy (premium capped at Rs. 4,000 a year, covering Covid-19 and other illnesses), and IRCON reimburses the premium when you submit the policy copy and receipt.
• Provident Fund: Minimum PF under the EPF Act is deducted from your pay, IRCON adds a matching contribution, and the total is paid out when the contract ends.
• Leave: You earn one day of leave for each month of service. It can be carried forward but never encashed. You also get one weekly off and the public holidays on which the project office is closed.
• What counts as experience: Teaching, training, consultancy and freelance work do not count towards the five years of electrical experience.
• Medical fitness: You must be in sound health and free from colour blindness; no relaxation is given on health standards.
• Ex-contract staff: Former IRCON contract employees released because a project closed can apply, but must attach their termination letter. Selection is treated as a fresh appointment.
• Posts can change: IRCON may increase, reduce or cancel the number of posts at any time.

• Registration window: Registration opens at 9:30 AM and closes at 1:00 PM on each walk-in day; interviews run from 10:00 AM onwards.
• Plan extra time: The process can stretch beyond one day if many candidates turn up, and requests to change the date, time or venue are not accepted.
