Pawan Hans Limited (PHL), the Government of India's national helicopter operator, is engaging senior professionals on a purely contractual consultant basis for three roles: Head (Technical and Advisor to CMD), Senior Consultant (Marketing and Business Development) and Consultant (Finance and Accounts). The drive backs PHL's push for Atmanirbharta, new business lines in aviation, and smoother day-to-day finance work in its regional offices. These are not regular government posts — each engagement is fixed-term and renewed only if the company still needs you. The openings suit seasoned helicopter maintenance engineers, aviation marketing professionals and accounts specialists who want to work with a central PSU.

Posts and Disciplines

• Head (Technical and Advisor to CMD) — Engineering: a senior advisory role at the Corporate Office, Noida, reporting directly to the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD). It is meant for engineers from the Mechanical, Electrical or Electronics stream with an aeronautical specialisation and a long career in helicopter maintenance and MRO.
• Senior Consultant (Marketing and Business Development) — Marketing: for full-time MBA (Marketing) holders who understand aviation markets — customer acquisition, long-term contracts, the UDAN Regional Connectivity Scheme, tendering and fleet deals, and brand outreach.
• Consultant (Finance and Accounts) — Finance: one post each at PHL Western Region (PHL-WR) and PHL Northern Region (PHL-NR). You need a full-time graduation with the Certificate in Accounting Technician (CAT); an advanced computer diploma or a PGDBA in Operations Management gives you an edge.

Post-wise Duties

Head (Technical and Advisor to CMD)

You will advise the CMD on strategy, operations and aviation sector issues, with a focus on self-reliance, business growth, operational excellence and partnerships with government and institutions. You will also guide the company on emerging aviation opportunities and organisational change, drawing on your background in MRO set-up, audit and quality assurance, and repair and overhaul (ROH) of aviation aggregates.

Senior Consultant (Marketing and Business Development)

You will find new business for PHL, build marketing strategies, widen the customer base and form strategic alliances. Expect to draft business proposals and market assessments, deal with prospective clients and government stakeholders, and explore new lines such as passenger services, consultancy and infrastructure work, and aviation education.

Consultant (Finance and Accounts)

You will run the day-to-day accounts of your region: preparing and processing bills and vouchers, reconciling accounts, tracking payments and receipts, and preparing financial statements and reports. The work also covers GST returns (GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B), TDS and professional tax, statutory payments and budget coordination, mostly on Tally ERP 9, Tally Prime and MS Excel.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Nature of engagement: Purely contractual consultant positions; they do not lead to a regular appointment.
• Tenure: The engagement starts for one year and may be extended by one more year based on the company's requirement.
• Reporting line: The Head reports to the CMD, PHL and is based at the Corporate Office in Noida.
• Different age cut-offs: Each post has its own upper age limit, all counted on the same cut-off date, so check the limit for the post you pick.
