PHL CPL Conversion Scheme Recruitment 2026: Overview

Pawan Hans Limited (PHL), a Government of India enterprise, runs this CPL(A) to CPL(H) conversion scheme to develop commercial aeroplane pilots for helicopter operations. It is a structured induction programme tied to the company's fleet and business plans, rather than a conventional vacancy with immediate cockpit deployment. You first train for a helicopter licence and type endorsement; contractual appointment as an Associate Helicopter Pilot follows only after you complete those milestones and PHL finds you suitable.

The course combines an initial orientation at the PHL Corporate Office in Noida, helicopter flying instruction through an approved institute, and type training on a helicopter selected by the company. PHL may arrange training in India or abroad. Your progress is recorded and assessed throughout, making attendance, flight discipline and compliance with instructor directions important from the first day.

Service Conditions and Caveats

  • Self-funded programme: You must fund the licence-conversion course and the type-training portion. Boarding and lodging during the initial licence training are also your responsibility.
  • Company assistance: PHL coordinates with approved training organisations and may finance part of the type-training cost as an interest-bearing loan recovered after employment.
  • Service security: Selected trainees provide a bank guarantee, lien-marked fixed deposit or a service agreement backed by sureties. The commitment covers training and a ten-year service period with PHL.
  • Medical status: You need valid DGCA Class I medical fitness before flying training starts. A lapsed assessment must be revalidated.
  • Training conduct: Attendance and compliance with instructor directions are compulsory. Unjustified absence, rule breaches or unsatisfactory quarterly performance can end the training.
  • Appointment condition: Completing the course does not by itself guarantee a job. Contractual induction depends on the helicopter licence, type endorsement, fitness to fly a PHL helicopter and company suitability.
  • Transfer liability: Once appointed, you may be sent anywhere in India or abroad according to operational requirements.
  • Reservation: Government of India reservation and relaxation rules apply, while PHL may shortlist only the applicants who rank strongly against its criteria.
  • Insurance: You arrange accident cover for the licence-training phase, with the premium reimbursable under the scheme. Company aviation cover applies after qualifying appointment.

Write the post applied for on the envelope. If the online route is unavailable to you, the detail page provides an application form, but you should follow the current official instructions carefully because incomplete, unsigned or unsupported submissions can be rejected.
