ECHS Station Headquarters, INS Hamla is hiring an Officer-in-Charge, Pharmacist and Laboratory Technician for ECHS Polyclinic COD Kandivali in Mumbai. There is 1 opening for each role, making 3 contractual vacancies. Fixed monthly pay is Rs. 95,000 for Officer-in-Charge and Rs. 36,500 for each technical role. ECHS INS Hamla Recruitment 2026
The Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme works under the Ministry of Defence and provides healthcare support through its polyclinics. These engagements are initially for 1 year and may be renewed for another year, or until the selected person reaches the maximum prescribed age, subject to performance and the Scheme’s conditions. Who Can Apply?
Officer-in-Charge
- Education: A graduate degree.
- Experience: At least 5 years of work in healthcare institutions or managerial positions.
- Desirable: Additional managerial qualifications, more than 10 years of experience and computer qualifications.
Pharmacist
- Route 1: B.Pharmacy from a recognised institute.
- Route 2: Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry and Biology, plus an approved Diploma in Pharmacy from a Pharmacy Council of India-recognised institute and registration as a pharmacist under the Pharmacy Act, 1948.
- Experience: At least 3 years. A diploma or course in a pharmacy specialty is desirable.
Laboratory Technician
- Route 1: B.Sc. in Medical Laboratory Technology.
- Route 2: Matriculation, Higher Secondary or Class 12 with Science from a recognised institution or board, plus a Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology from a recognised institution.
- Experience: At least 3 years as a Lab Assistant in a medical laboratory.
ECHS refers applicants to the ECHS Compendium 2022 for detailed conditions. Attach clear self-attested proof of every education and experience claim because an unsupported application will be rejected.
Age Limit
- Officer-in-Charge: Up to 65 years.
- Pharmacist: Up to 58 years.
- Laboratory Technician: Up to 58 years.

Salary
- Officer-in-Charge: Fixed pay of Rs. 95,000 per month.

Selection Process

Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily administration and healthcare operations of the polyclinic as Officer-in-Charge
- Supervise staff, records, patient services and institutional workflows within the assigned role
- Dispense medicines accurately and maintain pharmacy stock and issue records as Pharmacist
- Check prescriptions, storage conditions and medicine-handling procedures carefully
- Collect, process and test laboratory samples using approved methods as Laboratory Technician
- Maintain laboratory equipment, registers, quality controls and safe biomedical practices
- Protect patient confidentiality and follow ECHS clinical and administrative procedures
- Support inspections, reporting and other duties assigned by the Station Headquarters or polyclinic
Eligibility Criteria
Minimum Qualification
Post-specific: Graduate for Officer-in-Charge; B.Pharmacy or Class 12 Science plus approved Pharmacy diploma and registration for Pharmacist; B.Sc. MLT or Class 12 Science plus MLT diploma for Laboratory Technician
Preferred Qualification
Additional managerial and computer qualifications with more than 10 years of experience for Officer-in-Charge; specialty pharmacy diploma/course for Pharmacist
Required Skills
Healthcare administration, pharmacy dispensing and registration, or medical-laboratory testing according to the selected post
