IIPS, a Deemed-to-be-University based in Mumbai and one of India's premier institutes for population research, has invited applications for one ad-hoc position of Senior Project Officer - Writing under its research project titled "SAHELI: Study and Action on Hysterectomy: Evidence on Women's Health through the Life Course in India". This is a purely temporary, project-based position for an initial duration of 6 months, which is likely to be extended depending on project progress. Strong academic writing and publication experience is a must — you will be responsible for literature reviews, manuscript drafting, and technical reports for the project, working closely with the project head and coordinators. This role suits a postdoctoral researcher or recent PhD graduate who enjoys academic writing more than fieldwork.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: PhD (Awarded/Submitted) in Population Studies, Demography, Social Sciences, Public Health, or a related field.
• Communication: Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
• Publications: At least 2 peer-reviewed publications as First Author, preferably including one on meta-analysis.
• Experience: 2+ years of experience working on women's health issues.
• Skills: Efficient handling of reference management software.
• Desirable: Knowledge of statistical software like STATA or SPSS, and experience handling large-scale demographic and health data.

Salary

• You will get a consolidated salary of Rs. 70,000 to Rs. 80,000 per month, based on your qualification and experience.
