ICAR-Indian Veterinary Research Institute (ICAR-IVRI), Izatnagar has announced a walk-in interview for 1 Junior Research Fellow position in the Division of Pathology. ICAR-IVRI is one of India's leading veterinary research institutes under the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), working on animal disease diagnosis, vaccine development and veterinary biotechnology. This JRF role is under the DBT Project on Immunological Evaluation of Molecular Adjuvants with Live Attenuated LSDV Vaccine, which focuses on testing new molecular adjuvants alongside the Live Attenuated Lumpy Skin Disease Virus (LSDV) vaccine to give cattle better and longer-lasting protection against the disease. The position is purely temporary and contractual, co-terminus with the project, which is likely to run up to March 2029. Candidates with a background in veterinary science, molecular biology or immunology are encouraged to attend.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: Postgraduate Degree in Basic Science, OR Graduate/Postgraduate Degree in a Professional Course.
• Eligibility Route: You must have qualified through CSIR-UGC NET (including Lectureship/Assistant Professorship) or GATE, OR through a national-level exam conducted by DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MoE, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER or NISER.
• Desirable Experience: Hands-on experience in animal cell culture, molecular biology, immunological techniques, RT-qPCR, ELISA, flow cytometry and virus-related laboratory work will be an advantage.

Age Limit

• Male candidates can be up to 35 years old, and female candidates up to 40 years old, as on the date of the interview.
• Age Relaxation: SC/ST/OBC/PwBD candidates get age relaxation as per Government of India rules.

Salary

• You will get Rs. 37,000 per month plus 18% HRA for the first two years.
• From the third year onward, the salary goes up to Rs. 42,000 per month plus 18% HRA.
• This is a project-funded position, so your pay continues only as long as the project (likely up to March 2029) is active.
